Just because I only have 2 posts doesn't mean I haven't lurked for a loooooong time. I needed comfort from this site because where I come from, when you try to explain tthat typing on your filco is highly pleasurable people look at you like a looney

I find it really hard to explain why i spent so much money on a keyboard.  But i like to compare a high quality mechanical keyboard is like a Rolls Royce and rubber dome keyboards are like KIAs in terms of quality.  It is really hard to explain why it is so much nicer to type on a mechanical keyboard compared to other keyboards.  It took me a half hour explaining that my das model s silent is non clicky and they still don't understand lol

Quality, kind of switches, price and durability of keyboard are not necessarily related to each other.

Just for example this keyboards

Has an incredible feel, is used on the reservation section of a medical place, so is used heavily 12h a day, since 2004 which is its date of production.

Is dirty, but feel like new, the legends are perfect and there is no shine on the keys, likely it's price at the time was around 15/20$.

Now think to a filco in the same environment...

That IBM keyboard is nasty, no wonder hospitals are the number one source of infection.  And Stevie Wonder is a Musical Genius!  Don't you be sayin' nothing about Stevie, man!  You know what it is?  Yo mama musta brought you up wrong...

I do have to say that while the Deck keys may be funky looking, the PBT keys don't show any signs of wear 6 months of medium use.  This has me thinking of PBT keycaps for my Ninja.

If you gots just a few keycaps with gaps showing, then consider yourself ahead of the average.

Not how appear. My Desire Z is something like a "dust amplifier" when takes photo.

Just for example this photo was taken 5 minutes after the unboxing of my Xarmor

That is not an hospital is a place meant to do clinical tests, from blood test to TACs and RMNs, and that keyboard was behind a window in the reservation section, which looks more or less like the ticket section on a train station.

Deck keys are durable, but keycaps aren't the only piece that wears, switches will loose tactility and evenness, stabilizers will start to squeak some switches will simply stop working.

Cherry boards aren't durable as BS or good rubber dome ones, this is a fact often overlooked here (if not purposely hidden).

Looks like many bleeding lights are very common on TG3 keyboards, look at this mtl's photo

BTW my used BL82 had just three keys leaking, quickly fixed with the usual lumocolor

Its about time I put out. This has been like a high school relationship where gh is there to support me emotionally, but I wont give in return.

Anyways, on topic with light gaps. Yes, i have a toxic legend that exhibits quite the same effect on 8 or 9 keys. Not that me confirming a known issue actually *helps* anyone :P

My Deck Legend Fire had quite a few keys leaking around the seams, but it never bothered me.  I couldn't give you a count; I'm no longer in possession of it as some neighborly gentlemen kicked in my door and relieved me of it a few weeks ago.

Now I'm on the prowl for something with Browns.

That was nice of him. Did he also help reduce clutter by taking other valueless objects that were just taking up space? Like a TV or a computer, for instance?

Sorry to hear it, solah. I hate thieves. My GF had her apartment broken into a few years back. They took everything that wasn't nailed down. Including 1 of her pillow cases. I mean, really, they could have at least come prepared.

Just my computer, monitor, 360 and numerous accessories.  Surprisingly, my insurance has been quick and fairly generous in their value estimations.  I was planning on moving anyway so less stuff to pack now.

Less stuff, and more dough. I think that's fair. After her breakin, I've always had "replacement value" type insurance, rather than "current value". They pay out what it costs to buy an item new, not what it costs on ebay.

LOL, thanks.  There should be 65 keys showing seams.

Anyway, I am saving up for a new camera, but I just can't figure out where the money's going. Wife's not eating it.  No new clothes.  I did just get another keyboard.

Hm, nope just can't figure it out!

Edit: forgot the quote

After a few day's of strong use (most time gaming) and the painting of some key caps (65) from the backside with several layers of black paint.
I'm absolutely fine with my Deck Legend "Mopar SE" and dont regret my choice and decision.
The only thing i miss is the original deck trucker girl key...

@ripster: I connect the guy's the told me 30$ + key price!

The Deck I got back in January had at least a dozen keys that had the light bleeding seams.  Ugliest keyboard I've ever seen in my life.

To be honest Deck is the ugliest keyboard ever seen with or w/o the leaking lights

Other than the Legends, LEDS, and Logo, I find the Decks to be pretty nice.
