Yeah it's happened to other members as well, I won't continue further with why because nobody knows yet for 100% certainty.

What I do know is that Diatec is unwilling to actually remedy said problem and will tell you to %$^# off

What kind of switches does your Filco have? It's an intermittent issue.

Please see the Ping poll for more info.

Wow that's the first I've heard of this issue on a board with reds.

Great, I must be the really unlucky one haha... that or red owners don't notice the sound :P

The funny thing is that I was using this board earlier today and did not experience this sound.  I will  update if it goes away/changes.

Is it a momentary ping, or a sustained ring that lasts for a second or two after you press the key?

I press key---> hear noise, maby 1 or 2 seconds when I press then again when I let go of the key.  Space bar is affected (if at all sometimes), but not as much as bs/ enter.  Shrug.  I did replace the keys (bs and enter only) and grease them, but then again the enter key on the numpad that i did not touch also does the ring and I did not touch that one.

My full sized Filco with the reds pings all over the place.  My tenkyless Filco with the reds has absolutely no pinging.

It seems like full size Filco gen 2 have pinging issues. My full size Filco red also pings. My tenkeyless Filco 2 brown doesn't ping.

My Filco seems to ping, but I don't really care.  Every keyboard I've had has made some sort of weird noise.  If it weren't for reading the posts around here, I don't think I'd even have noticed or realized that it was an issue.

Just received the Linear R and I am enjoying it as much as my Filco brown board. Both boards ping a bit on some keys, but I don't normally hear the pinging over ambient sounds.   Since the red board is new, I am paying more attention to its actions, but even then, it sounds ok to me.  Man, I like the build on these boards -- solid foundation, efficient layout.

It is quite normal metal resonance. It depends on weather, your table material, and your keyboard's component (keycaps, switches, plates) and your finger force.

Compared with a rubber dome, my Filco brown is much more noisier and pinging a lot. Who cares? Headphones are invented for good reasons.
