So, my Razer Deathadder is double clicking 30% of the time when I press the left mouse button (it double clicks when i only press it once)

Anyone has any idea how to solve this? Or does anyone know a better mouse then the deathadder I could buy? (I use the mouse a lot for gaming, maybe a Steelseries Xai?)

If you think about getting a Xai make sure they'll let you send it back since 9 out of 10 of them have an absurd amount of positive acceleration.

i have a Xai for about 1 year now and could not be happier.

The only thing is that it doesn't track optimal on every surface. I have the feeling when using a QCK+ is doesnt perform as well as it could.

Get a hard mousepad with it (or use just the table) and be happy.

I know about the positive acceleration but 9 out of 10 should be exaggeration.

Back when they got released that's how it actually was, not sure how it is now.

Only people that were sponsored by SteelSeries could be bothered using a Xai, unless of course you were a noob.

The ones I am interested at the moment are the R.A.T. and the new mamba with the 4g sensor.

Hes saying the truth. If you care about the perfomance of your mouse those mice have a much better sensor than the R.A.Ts and 4g

Other mice with great sensors are zowie mico and cm storm spawn

I didn't use either of the mentioned mice but first of all, the R.A.T. gets pretty good reviews in general and, even more important in this very forum, there is evidence that the tracking/precision is superior to other mice: look here at post #12

Also nobody really tested the 4g sensor yet. Nobody can show me evidence either for being as good as razer says it is, nor that is **** and has faults.

Nevertheless, i tried to help Lester find a replacement for his dying mouse and i have personal very good experience with the Xai i own myself for about 1 year. Therefore i can give a recommendation for it.
And i also showed my interest in those 2 particular mice as they seem to have the greatest technical improvements on the field of (gaming) mice. I don't know if these improvements work and even if they are useful, but both the R.A.T. and the 4g sensor are novelties. That makes them interesting and definitely worth a look at.
I don't mind to be proven that these are "****" but to do so, some evidence (or personal experience) has to be shown to me. Only saying that they are not good, doesn't mean anything. (Except when you are the #1 mice expert in the world.

Any chance you could tell me how the "grip" of the mouse is on the sides and top peda? The thing that annoyed me about the DA always was the slippery / glossy sides it has.

I had 25+ gaming mice so I know almost everything there is to know about gaming mice and their sensors including mice using the exact same sensor as the r.a.t 3,5,7 and 9 and the sensor in the r.a.t 7 + 9 is horrible

Philips Twin Eye PLN 2032 sensor in the rat 7+9 mice have several issues like tha z-axis bug, the jitter and problems with almost all surfaces than hardpads

Its very good build quality. You just need to make sure you can live with 5-6% acceleration. Most people won't notice that

I just wand a mouse with good grip, and it seems the Xai has got a nice surface for good grip, the thing I disliked about the deathadder is the slippery side plastic

The sensor in the deathadder don't have any problems at all. Its basicly flawless except the sensor will still track when you lift it up a little high. Some people don't like that

@Lester: i also palm grip but i have quiet small hands. i feels pretty good as the surface is some kind of 'rubberized plastic' on top and the sides. It shows no sign of usage beside of the steelseries-logo as my palm sits right on top of it.

I find it a great sensor, mounted in a idiotic mouse.

I can't see any of the problems mentioned in the forums of half world, but the mouse is really uncomfortable to use, no matter the physical configuration.

The side wheel is too back., the aiming button is too far, the whole mouse is too large, the skates placement is odd and so on, but the sensor is damn good and I can't see any Z axis problem.

Why don't you recommend the Razer Abyssus?
I find it truly amazing. Probably the best mouse I ever had.

The razer abyssus has jitter issues(not all, the older models) but since you can't check the date on a abyssus it's a gamble to buy one(of course you can try rma). If you get a good one it's one of the best claw crip mice in terms of sensor.

Because you have a good chance of getting one that jitters. If you get one that doesn't jitter then yeah its a good mouse. But alot of people find it uncomfortable too

I got the xai, used it on both hard and soft pad. Tracking is a bit off, esp with the pos accel on hard.

I have 2 Xai's here. Both of them are fantastic mice.

If there is any positive acceleration then it is too small for me and my uber gamer Son to have noticed in the months we have been using them.

We use black Qck pads and neither of us have noticed any problems with tracking at all.

I have also tried the DVD test for lift distance and they both stop tracking at 2 DVD's on the Qck pads. So the lift distance is between 1 and 2 DVD's on the soft Qck pads.

"To make sure you always have a 1mm lift distance, the sensor on the SteelSeries Xai automatically adjusts the lift distance, depending on the surface you’re using. If you are a low sensitivity gamer a minimal lift distance is extremely important so that the mouse will shut off the sensor when you lift your mouse up to change position."

If it's any consolation, Xai have horrible customer service. I would steer clear of them until they get that corrected. Everyone always recommends the 518 but i hate how it feels. Very cheap. I currently use a Zowie EC2 which feels fantastic. Unfortunately, one of the side buttons is going to ****. So I say try the Mionix 3200 or 5000 depending on whether you like optical or laser, though the laser is expensive.

Talent/Sphex, which is soft and hard. Xai mouse button also has the double click issue where my razer/logitech mouses doesn't/didn't.

Just FYI, the Xai also have the double click with a single click problem.

High LOD for most people, also got that mouse acceleration in the sensor. But still a very good mouse for those who aren't looking to play under 1000 dpi.

Try lifting up and down the mouse really quickly; You'll see your cursor move diagonally to the bottom right by an inch at a time. It's the PTE sensor. It's not for people who play with low dpi that like to lift off frequently. It also jitters to hell at high mouse speeds.

eww it does guess thats why they make a dual sensor mouse also but the benefit of the extra buttons in wow and my 3d applications outweighs
the inaccuracy.besides i got a 2ft by 2ft stand that i use my mouse on so i dont ever lift up when im playing. also i have a wacom tablet mouse that i used as my mouse for last 3 years if i need accuracy.

A quick tip for the Xai..

I found that the lift distance on some surfaces was a tad too high for my liking. So I stuck a little bit of the sticker that comes with it about a third of the way over the top half of the laser hole.
I now have a Xai with a lift off distance on my Qck pad of less then 1 DVD. It tracks perfectly and hasn't skipped once.
I think they over compensate with the light levels on high DPI mice to make sure they track on as many surfaces as possible. Sometimes this effects the LOD a bit.

Mouse arrived today finally after a long time!

It feels like a very nice sensor, tracks very good.
Also the feel in the hand is decent, but I do miss the Deathadder shape! (Used it for arround 2 years

), I miss it especially on my pinky, since it had a right-handed design and this one is ambidextrous, used it for arround 5-10 mins now, starting to get used to it already!

Feels solid, plays very nicely.
In case people wonder, the extra 2 buttons on the opposite side don't bother me at all, I never hit them accidentally.
The material used is also very nice, good grip.

To my knowledge the dual sensor mouse is also based on the PTE.
