More than 250 caps for blank PBTs, white and black, yay! (There are BLANKSTD sets missing in your summary list, by the way)

I'd love to give you a reason to not throw out symbols, but sadly I can't really find many. Maybe remove many keys from those sets? Return and shift arrows are more important than pageup, etc., imo. Just my opinion though.

Considering the RGB/WHITE(BLACK) Modifiers:
Quote from: 7bit;472812
I will remove them from SPH, RETRO and ORANGE.

Sorry, really.
*in tears*

Could the Kits be merged so there will be at least one kit with color-cap modifiers?

Too few orders => too expensive.

If there are only a few keys per shape and color, prices are insane.

Sorry, but no RGB-background colors for modifiers.

I thought step3 was always "profit"
As long as "glider" is still here.

I'm considering "lightening" my order: change to TKL, reconsider what modifiers I need, etc.

There is ROUND3/GAMER/ORANGE which comes in orange on very dark grey.

Sorry, but these kits with standalone colors had to go!

Step 4 Cabo!

Step 1: tighten up everything (remove the expensive crap):
almost done!
Step 2: wait until the ship does not sink anymore:
we did not sink further since yesterday.
Step 3: Introduce kits with reduced number of keys:
Some people will use an RGB kit so they don't need Shift, Control, Alt from their STANDARD/TKL kits.

There will be some RETRO/TKLRGBY kit for example.

Synergy effects:
NOIR/RGB........................6
NOIR/RGBY.......................4
NOIR/RGBY100WIN.................1
NOIR/RGBY125....................2
NOIR/RGBY125WIN.................2
NOIR/RGBYSH225..................1
NOIR/RGBYSH275..................3
NOIR/SYMBOLSRGB.................1
NOIR/SYMBOLSRGBISO..............1

use BLOOD legends to reduce the price (ie re-calculate the price).

Add CHERRYBLACKRGBY which comes in the same colors as NOIR/RGBY.

Anybody in for a yellow on black kit?

I'd say you've got a little work ahead of you, I do not envy you that!

Might I suggest you enlist help?

Go make some trackable short links:

Assign one to each person that wishes to take part in this program and offer to knock a couple bucks off their total order based upon the traffic they drive to the "dumb person" wiki and maybe a bump for each visitor that you can verify came through their links and ordered.

ROUND3/GAMER/BLACK

ROUND3/GAMERMINI/ORANGE
ROUND3/GAMERMINI/BLACK

ROUND3/WASD/ORANGE
ROUND3/WASD/BLACK

And then there is the ROUND3/GAMER kit which comes in the ROUND3 color-scheme and therefore does not have A-Z keys and is cheaper!!!

So what is the deal with the huge price jump? I know ROUND3 started a little higher and started getting cheaper and cheaper (I cant remember the cost of the standard round 3 doubleshot kit, tried searching for it but couldn't find any prices on my invoices/history).

I was hoping to get about ~3 tenkeyless kits and some addons and wasn't wanting to spend over $200, is this not going to be possible? Is this all due to so many different kits/colors/options this round?

The stepped caps lock/control keys, will they fit a Filco? I was hoping the round 3 caps lock stepped version would, but it has an off center stem (i guess for some version of cherry keyboard).

Is there any way to order the new RETRO/STANDARD/GREY with only the keys that are different from RETRO/STANDARD? Actually it might be better to get the RETRO/STANDARD/GREY and then get RETRO/STANDARD alph/num keys since i was wanting all dark gray F-keys anyways.

Hmmm, I also forgot to submit my order before the 16th. But I doubt my ~3 kits would change much. Basically wanting the cheap tenkeyless kits in Retro/Noir. I was wanting the SPH kit, but not sure now since I have never used them and you are not able to get all the correct keys for certain rows (did you ever figure out exactly which rows keys were going to be made?)

Something along this was my going to be my order a few days ago:

RETRO/TKL
RETRO/SPACE
RETRO/SPACE/DARKGRAY
RETRO/FUNCTION12
RETRO/RGBY
RETRO/RGBY/WHITE

NOIR/TKL
NOIR/SPACE
NOIR/RGBY/WHITE

SPH/TKL
SPH/SPACE
SPH/SPACE/BLUE
SPH/FUNCTION12

But maybe I will just change SPH for the new retro/grey kit. Also thinking of getting the noir symbols as well. it really comes down to what the prices are going to be. I don't want to say I am going to order 3 kits, then the prices be $90 a kit and me have to back out like I feel a lot of people are going to do after this jump in price. In the RGBY kits, etc, is there a way to only get the keys for standard Filco? Those kits have a lot of keys that I will never have a use for.

Higher prices from SP. No volume discount accross colors.

Too many color options. Better order some SPH or RETRO stuff. Chances are good they will be cheaper in the end.

Stepped Caps for Filco is not possible, becuaseb Filco did it right and they have a center stem. Only Cherry messed this up, except for G80-8200 and G80-2510.

Maybe I offer the Caps Lock keys separately, like the space bars.

They are quite expensive.

I've thought about this.

Something like

RETRO/STDALNUM
RETRO/STDMOD
STDALNUM would contain all lightblue on lightgrey stuff and
STDMOD would contain all the lightblue on darkgrey  stuff....

Whaaaaaaaa!!!!! Your order changes EVERYTHING!!!

If you order these many kits, I guarantee an immediate price drop of about $PERCENTAGE !!!!

Wait! Only 50?

Now it costs $6.

No, just kidding.

It is a stand-alone color combination so it is quite expensive. Also, SVG graphics keys cost a bit more anyway.
ORANJE/GEEKHACK is orange on very dark grey, which is the normal color of the ORANJE style.

I know these are still preorder prices, but any reason why GEEKHACK went from $20 to $50? That is an incredibly huge price hike. $6.25 per geekhack cap is pretty expensive for caps they have already made before.

These are 6 different custom lengends on 8 key caps:

45*6/7 == 38.571428571
Then the key caps themselves.

Maybe it will only be $40 in the end.

It might be cheaper, we just take normal text legends for these, so the price would be around $5 or $6 for those 8 keys (white on very dark grey).

It was one example of a website that can provide trackable links.

Now you have this groupbuy on multiple sites, right?  You do that to expand your customer base.  Well you have a very wide base of people to start with, some of these people have gaming guilds, clubs, fansites, etc.

The point is interpersonal networking, not spamming.  You have a product you need to sell more of and you have the means to do it but most of the guys on here don't have as much incentive to inform a lot of other people.  Just making a suggestion.

If I want that with additional DE kit - how do I get the shorter ISO shift key matching RGBY?

You can order:
ROUND3/GEEKHACK.................8
RETRO/GEEKHACK.................13
ORANJE/GEEKHACK................12
each costs $1 per key!

I'll add those for sure.

Would it be too late to add a package like I thought it was? I think that would be pretty cool to have a set of all the geek hack keys that have been made.

Hey 7bit,
I wanted to order the keys in that image of your 7bit phantom. The caption says it's SPH/TKL with SPH/POS (which I didn't want) and SPH/NUMERIC and SPH/MODIFIER I was looking for that tiny return key, etc. What kit has that one?

Basically, I wanted to trick out my 7bit phantom in a similar way, but I'm not sure what kits I need to do that, 'cause I'm going to order those for sure.

How should I know which colors had been made?

Also: Some of these might be quite expensive!

For 18 keys, (1 unit) I've got to pay $5.42 per key plus shipping!
12 1.25 units keys are at $8.22 each.
6 J-shape Retun: $16.02 each.

How many will you order?

I've found out that NOIR/RGBY contains keys with red labels which are already in the BLOOD style, so these will be a bit cheaper. Just have to fimnd out how much cheaper ...

People who ordered some  BLOOD kit and want RGBY keys, just need GBY keys, becuase the red keys will have the same color. So this will be cheaper too.

You can order now:

BLOOD/STDRGBY
BLOOD/TKLRGBY
BLOOD/RGB
BLOOD/RGBY
...

Also, since yesterday, the number of ordered key caps is floating around between 55,000 and 56,000.

reducing the kits is not the right way.

We need more orders!

Along these lines, doesn't it makes sense to just force everyone to get STANDARD?
This way you don't have people bailing because they don't get a full set and those "cheapskates" will benefit from bulk orders and will just have to deal with a couple extra keys?

I've been wondering about this too.  I'd be willing to bump up to standard on the sets i'm ordering if this is the case.

Then come the people that are complaning that they have to buy so many extra keys they never need ....

With those many different keyboards, a kit is never right for everybody.

But by making sets that are simpler, eliminating 2/3 of the different sets. Shouldn't that make prices go down, cater to more people, and make ordering and processing easier?
If all people had to do was pick between style and colour you wouldn't have 4 code boxes for the key list.

Personally the more I look at this, the more I am inclined to say that you should only run BLACK/WHITE and WHITE/BLACK and then send people a pack of Rit dye and some instructions.
