It's been a couple of years since I posted here, during which time the Model M has served me very well. Since I've got a new CPU on the way, last night I updated the BIOS on my GA-MA790X-UD4P motherboard from version F4 to F9 (update list:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3038#bios). The problem since then is that my computer will no longer turn on from the console's Computer/Master switch, but requires use of the case button. What I'm seeing when I turn on the console master/computer switch (or button) is the monitor and keyboard lights come on, but the latter then go out quickly; there is nothing turning in the computer and the mouse doesn't illuminate. What I'm wondering, and the reason I'm posting here, is whether or not those keyboard lights going out might be a sign that the the updated BIOS is not compatible with the Model M; i.e., the keyboard is killing the computer start. Any thoughts? Thanks,
