Interesting that they didn't go with blacks. However, at least now they got a matte finish. Say good bye to fingerprints! (I'm looking at you, Das Keyboard)

Yay! More switches and more mechanicals is always good! I don't particularly like the build quality of the Blackwidow, but all I have to compare it to is my Model M, so that's evidently a lost cause.

Read the part about complete anti-ghosting. Up to 6 keypresses. 2KRO once again, it seems. But I like that they've "optimized" the actuation force. What a revolutionary process and product from Razer!

What's the point of 1ms polling time if the debouncing takes 5ms? :D

They make fun of Cherry Blacks, which is a bit weird, because the average black user will be quieter than an average brown user. Browns are so light, you're more likely to bottom out.
Also, what mechanical switch takes 80g to actuate? Even blacks are only 60!
(No, I wasn't TRYING to sound racist)

Also, "Other mechanical keyboards provide little to no tactile feedback at the point of key actuation," I'm sorry, what mechanical switch is LESS tactile than browns, and isn't linear? LOL.

You just have to love their marketing speak.

"Extreme anti-ghosting capability" - so are they finally getting rid of the horrible 2KRO and have real NKRO over PS/2 and 6KRO over USB or is it just a new shiny term for the same old technology? I remember on my Razer Lycosa using the Caps Lock key broke their "optimized" gaming matrix bringing even the WASD cluster down to 2KRO... Not so great if you rely on the Caps Lock to toggle Teamspeak on and off. Actually, not so great for a "gaming" keyboard in general.

There's also a regular stealth edition if you want to nitpick.

I'm guessing "up to 6" means 2KRO. :)

"Most mechanical keyboards require 60-80g of force to actuate keystroke commands, resulting in actuation fatigue that decreases gameplay performance."

I'm sorry, but 60g of force causing fatigue? Grow some balls.

Quite a few people complain about blacks being too heavy, and some people with RSI or CTS may find them very fatiguing or painful to use, yes.

Wish they came out with browns the first time around with the matte finish. For being my first mech keyboard, it wasn't too bad but hated how the finish would be finger prints and dust all over it.

remember, for all the marketing that Razer does, they at least get the job done and get mech's out to the general public, which is good for the rest of us. The more mech's out on the market, the more players there are in the field which leads to competition and lowered cost. So yea, with Razer comes the Razer hype and marketing machine, but no one else has come close to bringing mech's mainstream.

If you're going to talk about how switches are, at least have tried them. This goes for alps and everything else.

Iunno. How many KRO did the Razer Meka G1 test at again? Looks to me like it's probably a modified version of that controller - why design your own USB hub and such when you've got an ODM cranking out a reasonably good part already? (And given the details, it may well be the same PCB even. Specs and ports line up too perfectly.)

Razer better give the team that comes up with their marketing key points a bonus on this one. You gotta love how they indicate or imply that there are maybe only 2-3 other mech keyboards in existence and they all have bad switches, but Razer, they know how to things right. ^^ cracks me up every time. And I still buy their mice because they are comfortable for my hands and the way I hold the mouse.

So you know?
The marketing implies it with "up to six" but even my 2KRO Model M can get 6 at a time on USB.
I'm skeptical.

Atleast they use different terms for some reason, gaming optimized matrix against extreme anti-ghosting... Still, do they have anything else than renders out yet?

Q. Do the Razer BlackWidow mechanical gaming keyboards have anti-ghosting capability? How about N-key rollover?
A. Yes, the Razer BlackWidow keyboards do have anti-ghosting capabilities. The standard Razer BlackWidow keyboards are USB only keyboards that feature a gaming optimized key matrix for the keys around the regular WASD cluster for multiple key presses without key ghosting or jamming. The Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition keyboards, on the other hand, have full 6-key rollover capabilities for multiple key presses of up to 6 keys on anywhere on the keyboard.

N-key rollover (NKRO) is only possible with a direct connection to a native PS/2 port on the computer which also has other limitations that USB overcomes. The Razer BlackWidow keyboards' anti-ghosting capabilities serve a similar purpose while using the more modern and readily available USB port.

That's what they write in the FAQ.
