How do you keep your teensy adapters internalized and removable? I intend on making mine removable from my Model M and my Zenith so I can swap which board I'm using easily. It needs to be internal as I'm a student (the board will be moving lots.) I also intend on adding a female type A USB plug. Where would be the next best place to solder this besides the mini usb connector solder joints? If that is the easiest place that's fine, Ill get my voltmeter out and trace the pins etc. I intend on using Soarer's converter as I just ordered the regular teensy.

I would not recommend trying to solder wires to the USB pins on a Teensy - way too fiddly, and would be prone to breaking off! Instead, buy or make a short adapter cable, and plug it in. If making one, the simplest way is to buy a mini USB cable and cut it, then soldering the wires to whatever connector you choose for the external connection.

But, if you want to use it with two keyboards, why not just case it and use it as an external adapter?

on my 6110345, I just built the converter with a connector, so I can connect different boards.

Since a Teensy is literally 19 dollars, you may benefit from making one per board you keep in play.

I would case it but my high school would think I'm carrying a bomb. :lol: Therefore, I need to make it internal.

You can use pin-headers if room inside your board allows.

Use angled header when no room on height.



And I'm not sure why you need type A receptacle. How about mini AB receptacle?
I wonder that type B and AB has same foot print and you can replace mini B on Teensy.

MBC, I would... I'm a teenager and have no steady income, Therefore, I must make do and come up with such ideas.
