They use signature plastics to produce the keys.

One of the reasons for the high cost is that they will program the 'board and fit keycaps depending on your needs.

There are a lot of pm's regarding me proxying these. I can get 10 and they will be costing me 7.50gbp each (including shipping to me). I have 5 sold already (I will be pm'ing you guys in a minuite) anyone else want any I pm me.

I will be charging in 2 lots, first for the products then when I have the keyboards I will be collecting for the shipping ( exactly what it costs me).

I'm not taking anymore orders until I get them in my hands. There should be some spares but I don't want to of accidentally missed anyone. I have paid for the extras out of my pocket but I am sure I will to get rid of them at these prices.
Orders are:
2x Pyro (PAID)
2x Dorkvader (PAID)
1x kbdfr (PAID)
1x bootstrap (PAID)
1x telepete (PAID)
1x for me (PAID) ;)

Should have 3 spare. And I will tell people the shipping costs after I have taken them down the post office.

EDIT/UPDATE: She is shipping them tomorrow, next day delivery. Will sort them out over the weekend and get them down to the post office for quotes.

I got mine today, I'll post some pics up after dinner but first impressions are pretty good. Nice keycaps and I quite like the black switches and the matrix layout, only real problem with the board in the spacebar feels real heavy. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but I think if it is a black switch under there, it's broken...

multi unit keys go over multiple switch on these, so space is 2 switch which is why it feels so heavy.

Definatly doubleshot, I've got a comparison pic next to a vintage Cherry doubleshot.

Haven't had a chance to play around with the software yet

Next to my Filco, quite a bit smaller.

Close up on some of the keys, turns out the space is so heavy because it's over 2 keys :P, also note the lack of nubs/deep dishness on the F and J keys.

And the comparison shots, Q key from the Filco and the Access

Any more requests? I'm off out for a bit now but will check back and upload more (if needed) later on.

I bet you'll find two switches.  Could be worse, it could be a quad key...  If you replace the double key with two singles, you'll find one doesn't do anything - otherwise you'd get two spaces every time you hit the key.

I remember a place I worked at used Access with 4unit square for the enter/total button. You had to punch that thing.

Next problem is the programming.

There's a template in softprog that looks like it's the one - difficult to say until I see the label on the back.

Hzza, could you take a picture of the label, please?

If the keyboard doesn't like the reprogramming - it might brick - not completely as it should be possible to program again - but brick as in hitting the keys doesn't produce anything.  I'm willing to volunteer mine for medical experiments when it arrives.  There's no point in us trashing all of them.

To reprogram - you'll need a computer with ps/2 built into the motherboard - a usb adapter simply won't cut it.  You'll also need administrator access on the PC.

Hzza, are all of the function keys doubleshot?  Access has a nasty habit of mixing...

Looking at the legends I'd guess they came from the same company that owed the akc090 that I've bought from the same seller.

I've recently sent Access an email suggesting that they use cherry reds.  None of the users are really going to notice the difference on the single keys, but it'll really be noticeable on the double and quad keys.

Good idea, but I doubt they will change from black. It's the go to switch for POS and Industrial boards. Change is bad, or so it seems.
Programming them isn't too bad. I still recommend doing it on old systems with a dedicated keyboard ps/2, not one of the new combo keyboard/mouse ones. Use XP whenever possible so no fighting the os permission levels for direct hardware access. I haven't used the software in awhile, and it may have improved but I know old systems with XP work. Had problems with new combo ports on 7 last time I had to program one.

Thanks fossala/hoggy, I'll post pics of the label when I get home later and I'll also check the rest of the function keys. Is there a particular model number that the programming works with?

I'm hoping for K0720002 - but it might still be compatible even if it doesn't have that number on it.

Labels

I've also checked another load of function keys and they all seem to be doubleshots, not promising anything though as I'm currently using 2 bent paperclips and cap removers and they tend to dig into your fingers after a while...

I'm glad to be able to contribute to "science" - but well, since typing on a Tipro, I don't really need an Access ;-)

And fossala, if you happen to have one spare keyboard, I would be interested in taking a second set of keys and again leaving the keyboard with you.

Just turned up and I will pack them tomorrow and take them down the post office to get weighed on Sat. Some bad news not all are 100% doubleshot from the hand full I have checked a-z are always doubleshot. Don't know how to decide who gets what, any ideas?

Difficult issue.
Perhaps the first ones to specifiy they want 100% doubleshots (which I am doing here) should get them

On a more serious note: I wrote today I wanted a second set of keys precisely because from the postings here the "unusual" keys were supposed to be doubleshots...

On a lot they are but not enough sets for everyone. So you may be lucky and get a 100% doubleshot set but you won't be able to have 2.

Looking forward to playing with how I want to set up the layout. I'm planning on using mine as a special setup with macros for traktor. Look like they are all in good shape and relatively clean. Thats a nice change from the typical state I get POS stuff in.
Happy to be getting all doubleshots. I assume some of the colorful ones are the keys that are not?

Which keys aren't doubleshot? I would REALLY like that green f10 key to be doubleshot on both of my boards.

I'm ambivalent about modifiers and the numpad.
