I'm sure there are women who share a passion for keyboards and other computing peripherals as much as the men here do.

I believe most would be lurkers because once she has be exposed, a miliion and one guys will add her as friend instantly.
Just saying.

I've once met nice lady who like mechanical keyboards in Singapore but lurks the forums and only PMs instead of posting anything.

Girls in men's forums will tend to feel inferior as they have small number to get MO and etc done.

Imagine themed MO:

And back on topic, I think it's sad and desperate when someone in a forum states that she's a lady, and 90% of the forum starts hitting on them and/or set them as forum friends, instead of just treating her like any other member of the forum.

Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 12 women who are or were members at GH.  I can also say that, easily, about 8-10 of them knew more about keyboards and had better input than about 99.9% of the swinging ****s that hang around here.

I don't see the issue. This is why we have different subforums. If you want to talk about keyboards, go to the keyboards subforum. If you're interested in being social, go to the other ones. So far as I can see, your gender doesn't effect your appreciation of keyboards, so lets not make it an issue?

Speaking of which, I only just noticed that this thread was in the keyboard subforum. Mods should probably move it?

this is a keyboard/tech forum.  if someone is here, it's because they're primarily interested in the tech, not the social aspects of the forum.  there are far better social outlets if they're interested in being harassed and oggled at by creepy guys.  for most, Facebook fills that need quite nicely.

on a social forum, that's a totally different situation.

I just don't see the fuss. Oh look, a girl that likes keyboards...........! How could she be as nerdy as I am...?

C'mon fellows, I don't think nobody cares one has somebody hanging or not. Truth said, why would you make such a question in the first place? For me it makes no differece whatsoever to talk to a male or a female. So, the question sounds to me as "is there any asian around here? Any native american?". Its just some stupidity, as what matters is what people has to say...not their gender/religion/race/whatever.

PS: yes, such stupid and irrelevant questions irk me...

Forums are inherently social.  I'm not afraid of "coming out" as female on a forum like this because it helps dispel stereotypes (e.g., that women only care about babies).  I'm female and I hate babies, weddings, and holding doors open for people.
