I didn't...I was tempted, then I think "ISO" and I forget about it.

The seller had two, and I grabbed one. *I love the white ALPS in my AEKII, so thought I’d try the black ones since they were so cheap. *If it works out, I’ll use it with my PC at work. *If not, I’ll just sell it on.  Thanks for the heads up.

Hmm must resist the itch to buy alps !!!!

I am tempted after i striped several tracks on my Dell removing the switches to paint the rusty plate ( crappy soldering by dell bending the pins !)

The seller has none left now, so no willpower required to resist them!  I noticed that there’s rusting on the plate under the keys.  I wasn’t very impressed by that, especially since the keyboard is in otherwise excellent condition.  I’ll strip it down and clean the rust out some time.

when you de solder keep an eye on the pins

they are bent over and its takes time to de solder them as you have to make sure there is no solder under the pin as you will lift the track i would get some de soldering braid and use that after use have sucked most of it up with a sucker

you may also want to add fresh solder to each switch before de soldeing as fresh solder has a much lower melting point

i have some vv narrow wire and am going to try to fix the tracks on mine
