.22 has been cleaned out everywhere I've been, too :)

Seriously..... when I was shooting .22 I could walk into my local wally world and pick that up for cheap and it was easy to get.

I was there yesterday and the ammo shelves were vulture clean, even the .22 ...

Still hoping that demand dies down a bit and production ramps up somewhat...

More they threaten to ban something, the more people will buy and stock up. It is free marketing for the firearms industry.

You can get a Ruger for less than $400. Same with some Taurus revolvers. $600 is probably the sweet spot with Glock and Springfield XD and S&W M&P, etc. My choices are in the $1000 range, being Sig P220 series.

I still recommend either 9mm or .45 ACP. 9mm is cheaper, when you can buy some again.

Oh yeah, the long barreled one? That's a nice shotgun. You can't go wrong with a Rem 870.

I have an 870 with 18" barrel for home defense. At close range, the 870 is far and away my favorite weapon.

Agreed. I shoot trap with mine, its very nice. The extra weight makes my swing nice and smooth when I shoot.

lol are you kidding, the firearms industry has spent millions if not billions on advertising, lobbying and saturating the media with gun romanticism convincing people that the second amendment is the most important one.
Uh huh. Are the antis paid by the firearms industry to do the campaigns? If not, then it would be "free marketing." It has nothing to do with how much the industry paid for advertising.

Explain this one to me. Are you suggesting firearms industry paid the antis to stir up bans to stimulate demand?

Edit: and the free marketing thing is a joke. When people hear something will be banned, no matter what it is, they'll rush out and buy a bunch.
