Noppoo Choc Mini on OSX without PS2 bypass **FIXED**
« on: Mon, 11 June 2012, 22:53:35 »
Step by step instructions on how to get the Choc Mini working on OSX:

1. Make sure the Choc Mini is not plugged in
2. Download this zip file and unzip it
3. Move the IOUSBHIDDriverDescriptorOverride.kext bundle from inside the unzipped directory to /System/Library/Extensions

Code: [Select]
cd /location/of/the/unzipped/project
sudo cp -r IOUSBHIDDriverDescriptorOverride.kext /System/Library/Extensions

4. Download and install KeyRemap4Macbook
5. Restart
6. Plug in your choc mini and go to town

Notes:

The kext was compiled in Lion so I can't guarantee that it will work in other versions of OSX.

This solution was originally proposed by thefloweringhash here. I just wanted to make it a bit more user friendly.

Awesome :)

I was thinking about trying one of these board out but I have a couple of questions if anyone is using this ...

Has anyone tried this on Mountain Lion yet?  Chances are probably good it'll be fine but I have no idea what they changed in the lower levels from Lion->ML

Are there any issues with it?  Would it still work in single user mode, for bootup key combinations, etc?  (neither are a huge deal just want to know what I'm getting into)

I'll give a report on how it does in Mountain Lion.

And I was just about to sell my Choc Mini...

Has one one gotten this to work with OS X Mountain Lion? I've tried using the kext and the pkg (with KeyRemap4MacBook) and it still doesn't work properly.
