i have no idea what that thing badwrench gave you is, but it looks cool as hell.

It's a blown glass paperweight.

How does it sound when you type on it?

Like a cap?  It definitely amplifies the noise of the switch a little and adds a more solid sound to it that's a little deeper pitched than plastic caps.

To give my opinion on the sound, it's a deep "thock", and pretty different from a regular keycap.  The added weight does make a difference.  I actually recorded a video of my original brass cap to show the sound differences, but never uploaded it.   :blank:

A Gummyrot Gumrot MX and a few shift keys from EK.
They are really nice and thick btw. So probably a good fit for GMK keys I have.

Heh seeing the gas masks and the ogre made me think of the zombie apocalypse.

Or at least the ogre apocalypse.

Today, I received a Thermaltake Saphira mouse from Newegg, as well as some keycap singles from techkeys.

It was really sad to retire my Logitech mx518 after 8+ years of service  :(

Thanks.

My first impressions:

Pretty sizeable mat (13.86" x 10.71" x 0.2")
Non-slip sidings on the corners do a pretty good job of preventing the mat from sliding on desk
Feels sturdy
Not friendly with mice that has anything on the bottom that makes them slightly not completely flat (i.e. Logitech G9x has feet on the top and bottom and the left side but not the right), makes it so that whichever side is uneven scrapes against the surface of the mouse mat. Switching from my G9x to Corsair M65 solves this problem.
Due to how wide of a mat it is, feels best with TKL keyboard, otherwise probably best if you flip it longways for a full size keyboard or if you want more space. I flipped it longways with my TKL because it feels less awkward this way.
Tracks pretty well and feels nice

Keep in mind since its a hard surface, it will wear down mouse feet faster than a cloth pad.

Overall, I think it was worth the $17 and some change I spent buying it from Newegg.

No wonder I have such a hard time with my switch tool, that one looks much cleaner. Mine is scorched and bent to hell, almost useless  :(
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Its a matter of comfort and personal preference. Some people prefer nubs, I prefer scoops. Try them.

Could be, I think I was in the first run. I have a feeling it may have gotten a bit bent in transit too. It kind of works but because one side doesn't sit in evenly it pops out when I try and put some force on it. Super annoying!
