They call it a lens, but it's really just a piece of glass you screw in front of an existing lens, much like a filter, that changes the focal distance.

Yeah that's what I thought. Almost like an extention tube, expect on the other end.

Captn Badasses was the 5x5 and the switches were tight fitting, I got the 3x5 and they dont feel as tight but they fit so its still great for the price. But the 3x5 isnt as high so i had to add bump-ons on the bottom of the plate so the bottom of the switches dont hit.  :thumb:

I got these over the past couple days. We'll start with the boring audio stuff:

Mr Speakers Mad Dogs, a Schiit Magni amp, and Fiio e06 that I picked up for cheap at an airport store. I couldn't believe there was legit audio stuff in an airport @.@. I tried the BeyerDynamic T5P, T90, and Shure e4c. Then picked up the e06 for giggles. Shoutouts to tjcaustin for helping me out with the Magni and Mad Dogs.

DO YOU EVEN ALPS BRO? Complicated Linear Green Alps from Akimbro <3

Hmmm, what's this?

Again, thank you tjcaustin for sending this to me. And with Whites! :D

I think I need more lighting or a bit more ISO in my pics but they're much less fuzzy than my other ones. I'm still learning how to operate my camera so shoutouts to Photoelectric for some tips ^__^.

Looks good, CPT!  That white GH60 PCB <3

More light is always good, but they look nice and sharp :)  You can download some free software like GIMP (there's even a 64-bit version) and play with brightness and contrast and white balance.  You can brighten up your photos after you take them.  Your camera probably has multiple white balance settings--I'd try those (there's a blue-green tint to the photos).

Yes I know this but considering it screws into the end of a lens, like a filter, I called it a "filter and a lens combined"

It's kind of like an extension tube, expect the opposite considering it attaches via the filter threads. It's just adding more magnification and allowing it to focus closer, aka turning it into a "macro" lens. It's like when you take a 50mm and flip it, it works as a make-shift macro lens too.

It's not a filter though, it's a lens.  This so-called extension-tube is just housing for a second lens.  2 lenses combining magnification is still 2 lenses in series.  So yes, I added a lens :)

I have done that with zoom lenses as well.  I even bought an adapter that lets you mount the lens backward on the camera.  I was using the stock 18-55 canon lens on the wifes rebel XTi.  You can get some insane magnification for dirt cheap that way.  Not near as good of an image as using a dedicated macro lens but those get real expensive real quick and the adapter was only about $15.

Also I was under the impression that for the most part extension tubes didn't have lenses in them.

How did you manage 5 days?!?

Quickest I have had from US is just under 3 weeks.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

87U 55g and pink blanks arrived from EK today aswell. 5 days from US to here is quite good.

How did you manage 5 days?!?

Quickest I have had from US is just under 3 weeks.

I thought that one magical package I sent you arrived in like 8 days or something.

Nice, with the better white balance I can see you need to clean the flux off, but the white pcb looks great!

Nice.
