I got a credit card statement.

Next month's going to be interesting.
Gonna go on a ramen diet?

I think my other half and daughter would object to that
I never was forced to eat Ramen, so when I was 8 my brother and I would request to eat it because we had never had it before, and in general ramen tastes so much better than some other store brand chicken noodle soups.

Actually my other half had chicken noodle soup for lunch today!  What I had is documented elsewhere here.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What do you mean by taped up the space bar?

HHKBs have a stock ABS spacebar. To protect against shine, people put some scotch tape on the spacebar to protect it.

I think that would feel weird. Hopefully that PBT spacebar GB ends up happening.

Probably matching color gaffer's tape would be better suited to this task.

I got two rather incredible presents from Grim Fandango yesterday. I haven't had a chance to take a picture, but I was really shocked and honoured when he told me about them.

Thanks to beserkfan as well, I shall post pictures when I get home.

Safe to say, they are both very generous guys.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Don't forget to lightly lube the spring (if you're going to test custom springs) & sliders for an even more mind blowing experience.

That's a really cute PCB :p
I wish hall effect keyboards would become a thing so that you could have analog inputs for movement in PC games without having to use a console controller.
In the end.. the keyboard's most grand form of existence is as an ethereal bridge between man and machine..    Each depression of the keys, evanescent.. Our transitory thoughts crashing into the web, carving canyons through the internet wasteland such that life may once again flourish..

Definitely, pretty crazy how cheap they are too. Wish I knew exactly how old it was though, I can't find any dates on the boxes or keyboard. Perhaps when I open it there will be something inside.

I found the instructions to be a little amusing. It shows you how to open the box and take the instruction manual out, inside of the instruction manual.

Got some Gateron Gatorade switches on loan from hwood34. Doing a quick comparison to Nixdorfs and old Cherry MX Blacks.

Don't forget to lightly lube the spring (if you're going to test custom springs) & sliders for an even more mind blowing experience.

They are not mine to lube but....I think I might be getting these instead of continuing my hunt for Nixdorfs on my G80-3000.

Those instructions are cracking me up!

Nixdorf too stronk

I only have one Nixdorf that Hzza was kind enough to send me :(. They're so hard to find and honestly, I think these Gaterons might be almost as good if I just lube a bit like Zeal said. Close enough that I can just get them instead of hunting for hard to find/high priced Nixdorfs. I will continue my testing :).
