Used 8113. $25, even came with original but really bad condition cherry box.

zalman zm-1 mic

and no XT even though estimated delivery date was today....been in kansas since the 21st

How were the caps on that 8113 board? Good shape or shiny?

Eh, decent shape. Some were shiny, some were pretty clean. Visible wear but not shiny. Under the caps tho, was a lot of random crap and god knows what.

To add on, after cleaning, I realized these are really nice keys.

Numpad was used a lot. A LOT.

Esc is really smooth.

Alphas and mods on the other hand, not very much. Spacebar wasn't even shiny. All keys were moderately used.

They're regular ANSI black on beige two tone Cherry doubleshots. Nothing fancy and colourful :'(

That's a Tek-Mat. It's a mouse pad gun mat that was on sale a little while ago. I guess its supposed to be a mat you put on your work bench if you're working on a gun.

Not exactly by mail, but this awesomeness came in today via a car and Badwrench (who is seriously a cool guy, and not just for this).  It made its way up to me from San Diego after I stumbled across it on Craigslist.

Definitely needs some cleaning, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they're some sexy dyesub thick PBT caps and the switches are some of the older Cherry MYs (black housings).  They're not as bad as people make them out to be.  Not amazing for my preferences, but I could see some people not minding them.

Nice get!

As embarrassed as I am to say it, I haven't tried White MY.  I'll likely be giving away a PCB/plate/switch set or sending out individual switches to people who want them since I have two Black keyboards now, both off of TA typewriters.  I may also do a short review since it doesn't seem like there's a ton of info on them.

Very nice, Nubs!!!

Thanks!  Now I have two out four or five different TA MX compatible sets.  There's something about the old typewriter caps that I just love.

Yesterday, I got a Steelseries Sensei and a QcK mousepad:

Today, I got a very nice shape G80-8113, but it had no caps so I had to add some. Who would have thought that a Cherry board would not have off-center caps lock? Purple will hold it's place until I can attempt a stem swap. Also my Portuguese Cherry ISO set has a top row profile |\ key, so I had to improvise there as well. Pic:

well, I also have only one ps2 port but right now I am using it with a ps2 to usb converter. I suppose I could plug the keyboard into one and the mouse into the other. I may try that later. TBH, not really all that interested in using the touchpad. I keep reaching there for the arrows actually. But other than that, i like this board. I'm about to have to change this space bar switch to a green though. Having the alphas click and the space bar not click is about to drive me crazy. Thanks for the board, it really is in great shape! If only these things had plates!

Edit: BTW, why does this keyboard beep at me?

I've learned to appreciate plateless boards after my WEY with PCB-mounted Clears. Best-feeling Clears I've tried to date, as a bit of flex enhances the overall typing experience.  I didn't realize it until I put in Clears into a custom plate-mounted board right after typing on the WEY for a few weeks straight, and the difference was dramatic.

I don't like any non-stock Clears.  I've tried them a number of times with different springs, and they are all just poor derivatives of the perfect original :)

Hmm

Don't know if I should get a plate made for the alt60% project, or go PCB mount for clears

KMAC LE

A Cherry touchpad board, that I admittedly only bought for the 1x Windows 3.1 logo keys. I've been looking for them for a long time, but the seller wouldn't let up on selling them individually. The board's actually pretty nice though.
