How can a brand fall this far and maintain market dominance? It's amazing.

I just have to strip that nasty nickel coating and I'll be all set.

I have the same one, from my grandfather. There's a service out there that will refinish your razor. However, I put mine through the dishwasher a couple of times and it looks pretty good without refinishing.
I'm back.

Got some Alps infinity in the mail today.

Better pics in a moment.

EDIT:

Those alphas look very nice, are they thick or thin alps?
Thanks . :)

I'd say they are a bit thicker than SP caps:

I also got a package of Matias switches from Germany...  I have no idea why I got these.  The bag has my name on it though, and it was sent to my old address so I don't think it's anything I intended to purchase.  Did someone send these to me??

Sounds like an order from 7-bit... Did you drunkenly pm his bot sometime in the last year?

I don't think so...

I ordered MX Green switches from him over two years ago, but those are with my GH60 stuff apparently.  I also ordered a few MX Lock switches one year ago, but that is not what these are (duh).

I don't have any history of sending any money to anyone for these switches.

Haha I know they're Alps!  xD  I was just listing the things that I did order, which are MX.  :P  I haven't purchased any Alps switches except for some from BlueNalgene's buy, but the quantities don't match and these were shipped before I even ordered those.  :))

Wild!  I tend to remember you saying things about having boxes of things and packages unopened because you thought you'd get to them later and then forgetting you already had it.
Maybe this is one of those cases.

That has definitely happened.  But I pulled this one out of the mailbox just a few hours ago today, so it's definitely new.  It's entirely possible I forgot ordering the switches, but I obviously won't be able to figure that one out myself.  :))

Also, the main thing throwing me off is that it was addressed to my old address that I haven't been at in a few months (so it's unlikely I would have given that address, even if I was drunk at the time of purchase), so I'm leaning toward gift?  But whyyyyyy; that doesn't make sense!

Edit:  Well huh.  It's almost certainly from 7-bit.  Last name matches the domain of his email address (but not the one you send money to if you order).  Still very confused...

Haha puzzling! I very clearly remember reading a few months back about you finding packages at home that you forgot to open and I was like....

... how's that even possible?!

Well, now I just sat and tried to remember all of the items I have in the post and the GB's I'm fully paid up in... and... I think it's time for me to go back through my emails and start a spreadsheet  :-X

Today was a great day mailwise  :thumb:

Got a huge parcel from HoffmanMyster. It contained a lot of stuff he proxied for me.

Granite DSA keycaps from R2 that will go on my JD40 plus some acrylic inserts for my Lightsaver.

Best thing are the Geekhack sweaters though. I bought two in a GB Badwrench run some time ago. They are super comfy and I am wearing the L one. The XL one is a backup for when I get fat :p

Also got some GMK swag (testing unit for their new dampened switches).

got dustin's purple hhkb + an ungodly amount of extras (not pictured) in the mail today. had been considering just buying a dedicated HHKB for work, and once i saw the deal dustin was offering for this it was an easy decision  ;D

i can 100% say that anyone using dental bands needs to remove them though. immediately. **** these things, for real, i can feel the compressed travel distance with each keypress. purple slider+rings master race if you're going to silence your topre, anything else is downright felony keyboard brutality.

Its sooo beautifullll.

Glad it arrived safe! :D  :thumb:

Would that extend to Hypersphere's rings? I've generally heard good things about them, but the travel reduction is why I've always left my HHKB at stock configuration.

A big box and a big padded envelope and a couple bigger boxes coming soon.

Today was a great day mailwise  :thumb:

Got a huge parcel from HoffmanMyster. It contained a lot of stuff he proxied for me.

Granite DSA keycaps from R2 that will go on my JD40 plus some acrylic inserts for my Lightsaver.

Show Image

Best thing are the Geekhack sweaters though. I bought two in a GB Badwrench run some time ago. They are super comfy and I am wearing the L one. The XL one is a backup for when I get fat :p

Show Image

Also got some GMK swag (testing unit for their new dampened switches).

Awesome!  Glad you like the hoodies.  And thanks Hoff for getting these to him.   :thumb:
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2
