I'm jelly. That should clean up very nicely and will be easy to convert to USB.

Hopefully that's the case! The one thing that makes me nervous is cleaning the caps since the APL front legends are printed, not double shot.  I tried throwing some of the black splotchy keys in an ultrasonic cleaner last night with some denture tabs and dish soap, and the dirt came right off but those matte-looking splotches are still there so I'm not really sure what the best method would be to attack that.

Huh. I didn't know they used MX Blues.

I was thinking of getting a used Amiga and restoring it so I can play the games.

Just in case you weren't aware, that C64x is not an original Commodore, but a Intel based PC replica made around 2011.  That's the reason for the CherryMX switches.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64x

Incidentally, the original Commodore's used a kind of Mitsumi switch.

I knew I mightve been wrong but I was totally too lazy to look it up. If I read carefully I would've spotted the "x."

And I remember that 2011 remake, too. I had kept looking out for pre-orders in the US and they kept getting postponed because the maker passed away, and then I lost interest in it.

Got a 7u spacebar for a granite HHKB build.  It was not perfect so I tried the old hairdryer trick.  Looked perfect, but didn't work (stabilizers hanging).  Tried flexing it back to banana shape just a bit to see if that would help.  Broke it in half.

That sucks.  What is it with PBT spacebars and warping?

Speaking of hairdryers, in my last job, one of the people in my department had one of those small square refrigerators that was used for soda.  They are notorious for building up a nice thick layer of ice and they need to be defrosted occasionally.  Well, she didnt want to wait, so she took a hairdryer to the refrig to accelerate the defrosting process.  Ended up melting the inside of the fridge to the point it leaked (guess it got the gasket or something).

Hairdryers are dangerous.

ugh thats terrible

I love all the enjoypbt sets ive had so far, probably going to buy more soon, but all of my sets so far have had a warped spacebar and usually shift keys. I did have some luck with hairdryer but not to the point where they dont impact the stabs some (on cherry stabs, costar are fine).

Ill be sure to be super gentle with them next time I try to bend them straight  :-X

Yeah, be gentle.  I was shocked when it snapped.  I actually just laughed.  Just throwing money in the toilet.  Not much else to do but laugh.

Since I'm retired and have more time to game, I've boosted my rigs with GPU upgrades....bought an RTX 2080 Ti which will now go into my Asrock Z87 Extreme 6 + 4770K setup. Upgraded my VEGA 64 setup by getting a 2nd card for CrossFire. A PowerColor RX VEGA 64 Red Devil

It's a monster of a card, easily dwarfing my Palit RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Pro OC (and this isn't exactly a small card)

Finally installed in my archaic X79 setup (the Asus Rampage IV Extreme does 2x PCIE x16 3.0, the ASRock Extreme 6 only does 2x PCIE x8 3.0), and though I certainly have a CPU bottleneck in some games, I'm content as long as framerates stay 60fps and higher since I tend to max out my games at 3440x1440.....and yes, I have a Freesync monitor, hence my preference for AMD. No worries about my PSU since I tend to buy 'overkill' PSU when I first built my rig, it's a Seasonic X-1250.
