Yeah I just learned that these are uber bright. That's about it. Also like you said they do fit inside the LED hole fine with no mods/drilling required.

what are the size of those?

did you get them off ebay?

Yeah, the packaging is kinda ghetto. It looks like its OEM. I got it from the Tigerdirect deal that was going on last week.

Twas hoping to get my SD card from Jocelyn... Instead I got a card from Men's Warehouse alerting me that Prom is coming up. Girlfriend promptly told me which colors and patterns I'm allowed to wear. Sadly, pink plaid is out. (She has a pink dress, so it'd match at least...right?)

Yellow & purple.  Both go great with pink!

You're welcome.

I didn't even see this post until now lol. I mailed it in an envelope on Saturday and even if I had sent it as a package, it could not have gotten there yesterday. My guess is tomorrow or Thursday :)

Cool. I was just a little surprised, but it's not like it matters if it's OEM or Retail.

A huge square box.  With a pretty massive blue SkiData board in it, all kitted out with Cherry MX White and MX Blue switches.  [Thanks, IvanIvan!]

The whites are a pretty nice switch, I really like the solid, crisp response.  Blues are clicky - perfect for the number pad.  Now all I have to do is decide if I look for an original key set, or something different (with Tsangan kit!).   :-\

Obligatory spud pic, board temporarily populated with spare key caps.

Yeah, that's what I am looking forward to trying out. The keys are taking a hydrogen peroxide and oxyclean bath under the UV lamp right now, and probably will be for several days. I needed another set of Wyse mods, and I figured I would take a chance on this board. The ebay pics didn't do it justice, some of those keys are flat out brown, lol

Edit: I forgot I took a pic in comparison with some unyellowed wyse caps:

No way I would deal with disks with the volume of data I have. Plus disks will only get worse with use where as with proper backup, more then one physical location for the data, it should last much longer. Also the disks are still around after only being used once if I ever need them.

First world problem I know  ;D

I was thinking of trying the Retr0Brite approach as well, to restore a really yellowed Alps set (Majitronic board).  What UV light setup are you using?  The local Home Depot only carries the "black light" fluorescent tube style lamps, so I was planning to order online, not sure what I should be looking for.

Be careful how much hydrogen peroxide you use, I had one set of WYSE caps come out light blue afterwards instead of the nice dark blue. Not sure what caused it because other caps I cleaned the same way didn't have the same issue. I now use denture cleaner for everything, but have not tried it on some yellowed WYSE caps yet.

I am using the fluorescent tube style black light. Got it at Wal-Mart for like $12 I think. It was cheap. I am pretty much following this set of instructions exactly: http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/retrobright-madness-t667.html

I have a carboard box lined with tin foil to refelct the light. Not sure how much this helps but I guess it can't hurt. I am using 40vol Clear Developer from Sally Bueaty Supply for the peroxide and oxyclean for the TAED. 40 vol is about 12% solution strength. I have had some good results so far, see this post for an example: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40289.msg798501#msg798501

That is interesting, I have not experienced this. I will watch out for that, but honestly if I can't un-yellow these keys, then I probably will not use them anyway. And I have been using the denture cleaner first to clean the dirt and such from the caps before using retr0brite. It does clean them well, but it doesn't seem to help with the color change in my experience.

I had all these nice keycap sets sitting in boxes and wanted to put them to use. So ......

These are the A.87 acrylics that are built by GON. The newer PCBs have full LED support but I only populated Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.

I built the USB cables in anticipation of the keyboards. It took four months to get them. He is VERY busy and the rumor is that he is going to take some time off from making these. The quality is exceptional and the time it takes must be quite a lot.

I just want one layer built to litster's specs in black acrylic, modified so that I don't have to cut my litster case...
You can always use the litster case to take measurements and build a new one without cutting up the original :)
