Na uh! Been saying it for years!  But you're a better sir than I so you deserve all cred :)) I think I should stop saying it in my everyday speech tho lol.

Sifo, now you just need to get those first edition Blurays from Japan like mine

This made me laugh.

In our house we've decided not to use the first adjective that comes to mind when being, um, firm with the teenage children.  When we are angry, we call them "fine young gentlemen."  Very mad, "very fine young gentlemen."

And things are about to get really bad when we get to "very fine young gentlemen. I mean VERY fine."

So if I perhaps say, please don't crap in my thread, good sir...

Always good to be polite.

there are 41 boards in that pic:

31 x PCE (840358-01)
9 x WY50 (840059-01)
1 x WY60 (840338-09)

I am expecting 10 more WY50 boards which were not in this shipment.

That's 5,182 switches and 303 stabilizers.

This post is not intended to be a sale post, but obviously I won't be keeping these all for myself :)

I am really excited about busting out that 808 though.

Hmm... would these all still get broken down for parts if a converter existed?

Speak not of it. I covered the shipping for all the things I donated to the bring glissant home auction. Just doing my part.

I got another Hall Effect keyboard in the mail. Not as cool as the first one, but it's older (from 1976) and has much wear on the stems. I took it apart for cleaning. The stems appear to be ABS, and the switch housings are a much harder plastic.

(only picture I took of the keyboard before I took it apart, my "other" keyboard is above for comparison)
(rows of HE sensors)
(all the switches taken apart and lined up. New Fujitsu T580 ultraportable in the background)
(close up of spacebar switch and housing)
(you can clearly see both magnents in this picture
(closeup of IC)
(rows of HE sensors)

These are the "old style" hall effect switches that microswitch / honeywell used from about 1968 to about 1979 or so. The round stems tend to bind a little if you hit them off axis, and this is much more apparent in this keyboard, due to the heavy use it's seen. I took it all apart for cleaning and lubriation. I plan to desolder the PCB and add diodes and a teensy, making it into a usable keyboard. Or maybe I'll use it as a parts unit for future hall effect projects. Heck, even the keycaps are worth it, to use with those "new" hall effect switches we've seen.
