It's not really that much better. They're more expensive to make, and don't require as many jumpers. It should also weigh slightly more.
If this were something really critical and precise, it'd have a real impact. For example large gates on transistors will help prevent them from being flipped by cosmic rays.
It's just marketing. I wouldn't let it deter me from buying one, and I wouldn't consider it a real benefit.
Now we should discuss about 90-degree bends in the traces, and whether or not that'll have any effect, either.
