Sorry, but that Poker is one of the uglier ones I've seen. Not my style at all.

You meant the strange color combination? I do not like it either.

Yeah. Purple, black, grey, Korean key and those number mods especially just kind of make it looks like a mess. As long as he likes it I suppose.

Of course. I supose for him anybody elses opinions don't matter. So as far as he like to see at that board every hour while working at his/her computer will be OK.

Could have just said it wasn't your style, no need to label it as ugly. I personally enjoy random novelty caps and think the board looks fun

Exactly.  It looks like a lighthearted and fun board.  It's not my cup of tea, but I can see why they like it. My cyan QFR is in the same vein.  I love it, some people find it less than appealing.

At least we're still less negative than the OCN keyboard thread.

Now imagine him lounging about the house with that Poker, top hat, monocle, smoking pipe, and those fuzzy shoes.  That's some good times there.

Honestly, I have my Noppoo at work and the switches/springs are a helluva lot smoother, it really pisses me off. I bought the noppoo second hand, so, it could be due to age? But my poker has a slight scratching noise on most of the keys and a lot of them *ping* as well. Not noticeable most of the time, but, you know when you notice something and then, you, can't, un-notice it... >.< ahh

Will probably lube and check them out at some point, but, look wise, Poker > Noppoo all day.

Here is my ducky-fied Poker II Backlit. Has brown switches.

The non-backlit was not available here in Australia from the main seller (MechKB), and I thought I would like the backlight, but I didn't. I found the LEDs distracting and actually reduced keycap legibility. And I disliked the font!

So the backlight is off, and now it has Ducky PBT keycaps - which is appropriate sort-of, since the Ducky Mini and the Poker II backlit are cousins.

I'm using it on a Mac - hence the "Ducky" keys next to the spacebar and the Magic Trackpad.

btw: I wan't change my browns to Ergo Clears, but would like to change my plate to an "easy-mod" plate at the same time, to make future mod-ing easier.

... So does anyone have a DWG for with the "easy-mod" tabs for the Poker II plate, so I can have one cut locally? :-)
Daily Driver: Poker II Backlit (Ducky Mini-fied) + Amazon o-rings. Future daily driver IBM AT Model F (restoring now). For fun: IBM SSK 1397681 (NIB), IBM SSK 1391472, IBM Industrial 101 Square label 1388032, IBM Industrial 101 Black label 1394946, IBM 1391401 (bolt-modding now), IBM 1370477, IBM 42H1292 (USA), IBM 52G9700 IBM, and more....

Just got finished adding a purple aluminum case to my Poker II to complement the new Hyper Fuse caps.  The board looks so pretty now!

When moving the Poker into the alum case, I followed suggestions found here in the forums and added a piece of cabinet liner in between the case and the underside of the PCB.  That made the board feel a lot more solid while typing, and also reduced most of the ping sounds.

The combination of purple case and blue LEDs is a killer!

I have the same Poker 2 (MX reds - blue LEDs), but I have the blue Tex case. I also have a red Tex case, maybe I should try it.

Ooh, try the Red case.  Maybe you'll get an interesting purple glow effect out of that combo. :)

About the Windows and Menu keys, that was a mistake, haha.  They're still just Fn+Pn, so it did not occur to me.  And I've actually been trial running your cool SpaceFN layout (with lydell's AHK implementation), so they're not really get any use at all right now.

Right, I must try the red case.

It's great that you are trying SpaceFN. But stay tuned, because I have been working on a new layout that allows one-handed navigation on 60% keyboards, like SpaceFN, but this new one does not hijack space. So I guess it will be easier for people to accept it.

By pure luck, this new layout is compatible with the Poker 2. I have purchased the Poker 2 just to be able to check this, and it works perfectly. I had started testing and improving the layout on a Poker X, but now I'm using the Poker 2.

What's really great this time is that you won't need any driver/software on your PC. Everything can be programmed in the Poker!

Keep on practicing SpaceFN, because you will be able to re-use your muscle memory with the new layout, and eventually decide which one works best for you!

I agree nassfu. That's one great looking board and the WASD keys really set it off.  :thumb:

Thanks, guys.  The keycaps aren't Dolch per se; I can't remember but I believe they are Double Shot Replacements Round Two or Three.  It was a mega group buy that spanned over a year.  We waited for a long time, but it was worth it.
