Here's mine - almost finished :D (The_Beast's plate is pending)

Show Image

Clear switches (I do fancy trying them lubed...)
Blank PBT caps from IvanIvanovich's GB
Pure aluminium case from Tinlong's recent sale
Pexon PCs braided cable (MDPC Color X with white shrink)

Wow! this is a really nice Poker, what do you think is its value?

Might regret doing this but anyway...

Poker - £70 (~$100)
Blank Keycap set - $50 (+shipping that I can't remember)
Aluminium Case - $120
Clear switches - ~£45 (~$65)

So a grand total of about $335 *gulp* (which I don't think I'll convert back into GBP for my own sanity...) - although I bet this total is much higher for some!

Edit: Plus the Pexon PCs cable but I can't remember what that cost or be a***d to look it up! :p

Edit 2: But even knowing the total I don't regret it as it's now an awesome board and I thoroughly enjoyed modding it to get it to this stage!  Looking forward to adding a plate now (which I think I might spray a different colour first - maybe red...)

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

You're overvaluing the poker while adding the cost of your clear switches.

Are we doing poker totals? I don't even want to think about it. However I will say that even with the GH60 on the horizon, I'm not sure I'll be selling my poker.

Welp

Poker: $100
Stems: $54 (Clears)
Springs: $12 (55g)
Plate: $15 (Custom, price doesn't include install since I DIYed it)
Stabililzers: $8 (Costar)
Stickers: $8 (demiks Korean stickers)
Caps: $60 (paid $86 for the board, but sold some switches)
Spacebar: $100
USB cable: $20

All that is without shipping on any of it (So about $5-$8 for every item above except the plate). So about $377 and I still have a Treble318 aluminum case on order (about $110 shipped). Makes my SSK look like a cheap **** when you really think of it.

However I will say that this cost is way easier to swallow since it's been spread out over 6+ months.

Does titanium feel a lot better? (Like I have tried Zinc caps, and don't really like them, too heavy lol)

Exactly - as a hobby it isn't that expensive at all ;)

The thing I really like about it is that each is completely individual - there won't be one the same anywhere else in the world  ;D

My poker , including the retro caps that I got the poker to go on:

Poker(plate/lubed/stickered): $450 SSK(yes, *that* ssk) -$50 (he gave me $50 on top of the poker for it)
retro - $90
alum case - $125

To be fair, when I went to sell the SSK, I knew I would never get the $450 back out of it and valued it at $250, but this seemed more like a "how much money did you spend to get your poker" topic.  I also thought about adding the bro-bot and girldc vader that are on it right now, but that seemed like artificial inflation.

Finally took a decent picture!

Clears
Cherry Stabilizers
SS Plate from The_Beast
Vortex Pure Alu Tray

Dremmeled the middle standoff for a nice fit with no bend.
The plate is almost flush with all edges of tray.

Thanks! If you are looking for some yourself, feng still has some of the zinc caps for sale on his ebay store. He also has the popup race caps on there as well, but in silver, not red like mine. I also believe that he sells stuff cheaper through PM here on GH, but don't quote me on that.

Currently it has blues on all keys except the LEDs which are browns.

To do:
Mod to ergo clears (in the mail)
Install beast plate (it's just sitting around, my soldering skills are ****)
Maybe get a blank PBT set?
Find an aluminum case (imsto or duck maybe, or the WFD one being developed at the moment)

Sweet Jesus!

I've been through this entire thread, and can't believe how much I wan't a Poker now.

This is the perfect hobbist board, where you can - over time - manufacture the perfect board for your tastes.

I feel like I've been introduced to these a bit late, very difficult to get a new one, all of the group buys for plates, cases, etc a bit past their best before.

I guess the only option is to get a GH60 (pre assembled, wouldn't trust myself with the electrics).. Then jump in head first with all of the upcoming group buys to kit it out :D Not a bad option at all!

here is my poker with lame caps. it has a low profile aluminum case and vortex plate. it has mx blue and green switches on the inside.  i am trying to learn the function layer before i put some dope caps on. i will not be satisfied until i get me some spherical dsa dolch caps with large centered legends.

^ ha similar setup with mine but i have different switches and caps, good stuff. would rather have the beast plate but i think the vortex plate works fine :)

so...

on the road again...

poker makes a good travel board, though with this case it does add some extra weight to my bag

it has been interesting hearing what people have said about my poker, some find it cool but some hurtful things too said (poor poker don't listen to the haters, you're my favorite)

nice. hey who made our cases? i bought my poker from imav so i do not know. i know i have a vortex plate.  i take my poker to work and back everyday. i like the heft of it. i wouldnt want to change it in the least. that said i am buying at least 2 GH60's in the poker layout.

also are those doubleshot PBT caps? they look pretty nice. i think i would split up the poker modifiers to opposite sides of the board for symmetry.  but take that last sentence with a grain of salt since my poker is symmetrical only if you are blind.

Where did you get that case/plate? (any pictures of the plate?)
Did you change the switches yourself?

Edit:
Should have refreshed the page before posting :P

Any idea where one can buy the plate/case now?

we look to both have the vortex low profile cnc case that was meant for the PURE but fits the poker and vortex plate (the "iMav" plate), could be wrong lol.

the caps are the SP doubleshots you buy direct from them, plus the doubleshot  poker modifiers that i think originated once from techkeys.
