Display Recommendation
« on: Fri, 07 September 2012, 00:14:29 »
Lookin to cop some monitors for a dual desktop setup. I've read that any monitor receiving favorable reviews on Newegg would suffice, but was wondering what GH had to say. Is an IPA monitor worth it? Are there any viable 120 MHz displays yet? How much would you spend per monitor?

I love my Dell 24" IPS's  (2407 and a 2408)... If one of them died I could live without for a while but I'd replace it with another 24" or bigger IPS.  Preferably a 24" under $400 since that would keep it near my original price on the ones I have.  I could deal with paying more if necessary.

u2410 was $404 2 weeks ago, btw.

I REALLY want another one but I move so often between school and home. Plus the desks at school are SO small, I'm lucky that I get my one U2410 on it

I have a nice 31" deep 65" wide desk and the 2 displays are on ergotron arms.  I'm spoiled and I haven't moved in 10 years.

I'm building my own solid hardwood desk (hard maple and purpleheart) for home that's going to be 29" deep and 60" wide, but the school desks kill me. And I can't justify spending $400 on a monitor I'll using 4 months out of the year (3 for summer and 1 for x-mas). By the time I get out of school they should have LED back-lit IPS screens in a reasonable price range or a used U3011? :D
