Finding blank teal keycaps.
« on: Sat, 15 September 2012, 13:42:57 »
Hey! I recently bought a Filco tenkeyless keyboard and I'm looking to customize it a bit and I need your help. I've spend the last couple hours on eBay, elitekeyboards, and qwertkeys and I couldn't find black keycaps of my favorite color, teal. I'm looking to get a 37 blank teal keycaps.

qwertkeys almost has what I'd like except they only have the color in function keys -> http://www.qwerkeys.co.uk/collections/frontpage/products/function-pack

Thanks so much.

You can choose any colour for their 37 ANSI packs. Such as that teal, and a choice of infill as well I believe.

Oh, and Welcome to GeekHack!

Not that I can think of in that colour. WASD keyboards has blue 37 cap sets in the US. And IMSTO has some lighter coloured blue thick caps, but would involved buying a full 104 set and shipping from China, and they are not too cheap. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.3.17.18.26b9e5&id=17218012075&

Best bet would be just to buy from QWERkeys if those are the caps you really want.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Good luck finding your ideal key caps :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've been talking with the QWERKeys guys for a couple of days now - they're super friendly and helpful. If you don't see what you're looking for on their website drop them an email and I'm sure they'll help you out!

WASD got their new keycap colors in so you could check out their new light blue color?
