Rubik's Cube
« on: Mon, 17 September 2012, 18:06:17 »
Here is my idea for a Rubik's cube dye-sub. I was throwing together some idea, and 2 of my friends said they really liked it and would buy one them self. What do you guys think? I would definitely consider doing a deal like I did with the creepers, or maybe just a proper group buy ; P

The white is just the sides of the keycap that can't be dye-subbed . The whole surface of it would be dyed (if that's even possible)

Would look really neat if executed correctly.

Where is nanotechnology when you want it - this would be so cool if it was a real cube that could solve itself inside the key cap :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It would go super well with like any keycaps too. Boards with RGB modifiers. man, that would be sexy

if the whole key was like this instead of just the top it would look awesome.

Well there were the spongebob caps imsto showed us, but it sounded like to do group buys of that style was still aways off. Sounds difficult/full of mistakes in making them.
BTW what happened to the dragon balls idea?

I thought that thread got removed o:

I posted it in group buy as an interest check, and I couldn't find it when I checked later to see if it got approved.

Yeah, so it looked like a miniature (and slightly distorted) Cube sitting on the keyboard.  That would be cool!
