I could be wrong here but I think rag's group buy prices are reasonable, it was his left overs that prices were jacked, and how he handled selling the SP screw up keys as well was less than spectacular.

If you're one of those people who has to have literally ever keycap ever concieved, then swallow your pride, stop moaning about the price (which has been reduced) complete the transaction and part ways.

Lmao.. I think a lot of people responding haven't even read part (let alone all) of this thread. I guess that's pretty common on the internet though, idk lol

No one is crying "overpriced!!!" on the keycaps he creates and sells on his website. The issue is that this was supposed to be a group buy; we were supposed to be buying the keycaps "at cost", not at double what he paid for them. The point of this was for him to handle payments and all of that through his website using PayPal shopping cart to simplify everything since that would be much easier than having to manually deal with 100s of PMs for invoices and payments etc.

The entire concept of "don't like the price, don't buy them!!!" doesn't hold a drop of water when it was agreed, promised, and reassured that those interested in this group buy would get the keycaps at the price we would be getting them if it wasn't done through techkeys...

Why do you guys keep pressing for exactly how many he ordered? That's irrelevant at this point. What's known is that he ordered more than 150 sets at less than $2.62 each, since that is what was offered as a "fix". It's based on the principle of hiding things, not how much he still profits from each one.

He's still making a large profit, it is what it is. For future reference though, groupbuys should be groupbuys. If someone wants to create custom keycaps, pay for them to be purchased in bulk amounts for bulk discounts, and mark them up for a profit while still offering them at a reasonable price to members (which is what techkeys does) that's perfectly fine. The two should not mix though; someone should never offer to "help out", turn a bunch of profit, lie to the community etc, when the idea isn't even his to begin with. It's one thing to offer to help or even take the reigns on a group buy (which is how this all started) because they're experienced and trusted etc, but that should not ever turn into large markups when you say that the pricing will be the same as a normal GB.

Live and learn. The easiest way to avoid this happening in the future is to simply not do it again.

Just ordered a bunch of these, and I was surprised to see how cheap they are, so these comments here are really surprising. I'm new here so I don't know how pricing works, and it is kind of weird to see the same key for three different, but close, prices, but overall those keys are a great deal. I ordered a set of the political keys as well, and a variety of the Breaking Bad keys, and shipping was under $4. Thanks for making this happen,  a smooth process like this for an awesome product is really a great first purchasing experience for someone new to the community like me.

Considering how easy you made the groupbuy process and how much uneasiness you put to rest I hope people wouldn't mind if you do make a little money from doing groupbuys on techkeys. On another note for group buying purposes have you considered implementing a system like www.massdrop.com ? Basically when you commit to the groupbuy it puts a hold on your card for the tier amount that the groupbuy is at. If it moves to another teir the amount difference is automatically refunded to your creditcard. Massdrop itself does make a little money for setting everything up but its still a great deal for everyone.

Edit: Put my order in and picked up a creeper keycap while I was at it!

That sounds much too high for First Class International. Unless it's for registered mail which doesn't make sense because that would be a minimum of $10.

I have shipped a little over 150 keys in one order for under $20 via Priority Mail International Shipping.

The USA shipping costs seem sort of ok(Still a little high)... but all international customers are getting robbed with the shipping. l3oiler you should lower these costs. You and I both know that First Class International Bubble Mailer is nowhere near $8.00. I personally don't care about this whole situation of the Breaking Bad Keycaps but this is just not fair for international customers.
