Prototype should arrive in about a week. I would imagine production would be 2-3 weeks after that.

My guess is the yellow color is not available or would take longer than oiler and probably everyone else wants to wait.
I personally have no problem waiting for things to be done right.

SP insinuates thin unless they have changed their PBT caps, imsto or cherry replica caps are thick. At least that is my interpretation.

qtan can not provide yellow cherry keys to print on. They would need to either be OEM, or white keys with the yellow printed on the top.

I didn't find either of those solutions acceptable so I went with SP.

SP top row is near identical to Cherry top row.

Gotcha, makes sense. I think run of color key need 3000 moq for Cherry thick.

This would be the hardest part now. But i3oiler is a very reliable seller, hence the items you want he will always supply in great numbers when the time arrives for SP to complete the order.

They're going to be sold at 13oilermaker's store, TechKeys, so they'll be available to everyone then (not just people who noted their interest), as opposed to running like a group buy.

Going to be group buy pricing for a week and then boost for costs after that? It isn't too late to take actual orders so you don't order to many and everyone gets cheaper prices.

After the fiasco with the Breaking Bad keys I am debating how to proceed here.

Should we:

A) Place the order now for say 100 sets and have them as a first come first serve?
B) Take a step back and gather specific orders for the next week or two and then place the order?

Group buy style for the most sets at the cheapest price. I've learned patience here, everyone else can do it if I can do it. That being said, how much do you want for the prototypes

Normal group buy, that way everyone gets a chance to have one. Then you can order extra sets on top of however many the GB orders, and mark up these extras at your store for anyone that missed the GB. If you're setting an arbitrary 100 set only, what if there will be more interest than 100 sets?

i3oilermaker if you sell 100 orders in the group buy, and purchase another 50 for techkeys hitting the 150 price tier what will everyone in the group buy pay?

As you many know from other Dyesub GBs (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=31946.0) The price difference between 100 and 250 sets is very small.

If we were to do the formal order gathering it would be simply to avoid running out of keys.

The IC gathered a little over 50 sets of interest. If people are comfortable with 100 sets, I can place the order and the turn around will be way faster. If people fear running out of keys we can collect orders, but that will postpone things a few weeks.

Are you a politician? Your skill at dodging questions is absolutely inspiring. Forget the difference between price tiers, even though going from 75 to 100 keys is still some savings per set more in somebody's pocket.

I am starting a GB - I took too much **** for the Breaking Bad Buy and do not want to deal with that again.

I will keep orders open for about a week, and then buy plenty of leftovers, and allow GB pricing on orders while the keys are being manufactured.

Please lets try to drop the negativity. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
