My wife has 3 mechanical keyboards, all equally or more expensive than mine. She thinks Click Clack skulls are "cute" so she stole my only one to use on one of her boards. Fine with me.

My brother is a by-night metal scrapper so he brings be home old pc stuff when he gets it to check it out before it goes to the recycling/ecycling place. He also has hooked me up with people who work at the e-cycler who hold old stacks of keyboards for me to look at once a month or so.

None of my friends are true computer nerds. One is a mechanical engineer and and does video editing as a hobby, so I am trying to get him involved in mech keyboards as he is in front of a computer most of his waking hours.

My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

I tried to explain to my apartment mate why I find mechanical keyboards interesting. The conversation derailed to switches, keycaps, and Cherry Corp...I think it might've been too much for him to find interesting @.@

Would be more fun if I had someone IRL to share this hobby with hah

He's got his 60 posts now.  At least it was not a bunch of 6+ month old posts in a single topic.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

mother: look, what a nice keyboard! nyaaaa!
colleagues: you spent WHAT on this keyboard?!
friends: you left $200 keyboards in a train! hahaha!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Halverson introduced me to mechanical keyboards. I was the friend who said "why does anyone need 7 keyboards" or "these people are so crazy you should make caps and sell them for money". Well after him bugging me about 12,584 times to buy a mechanical board, I decided to buy a race and join GH. I now have multiple boards and more keycaps then I need and now I'm the "crazy guy" to my family and friends.

Only 12584 times, eh?  Are you sure it was not 12585?

I've convinced my family that my keyboards and caps are not expensive..... They think the boards are like $40 and the caps are like 50 cents a piece. Hahaha. They still think I'm nuts!! I can only imagine if they uncovered the truth!!

Although records will show that a mechanical keyboard was available for $40 (Thanksgiving CM QFR) and keycaps are about $0.50 each (so a 100 set = $50, which is about right).

Except YM bought a race and poker. And zinc caps, and novelty caps, etc. so although some boards are cheap. His are definitely not :D
But in the end, he looks to me and feels good he isn't nearly as crazy.
