Grass Valley VPE151 (what a TANK!)
« on: Wed, 17 October 2012, 22:33:20 »
HUGE metal case board. Looks like it was built to survive the end of the world. Too bad it appears to be parallel or something interface, but could be a cool project board. Super colorful editor keycaps. MX blacks.

Looking at it further, it seems that a G80-2100/255* would fit inside it, so it could be a really easy mod.
I'm sure it has to weigh quite a lot seeing as it's plate mount and the case is steel. If you guys need a proxy, I might be willing but I have no idea if that would end up actually being any cheaper if you want the entire board.

Just had to check the shipping to Sweden, and it was only $65.20. I was expecting something about $120, at least, since regular keyboards cost about $50 to ship here (the few times sellers want to ship outside of the US). :P

$71.60 to ship to the UK so counts me out. Really like the look of this though, would definitely make for an awesome mod.

Just say NO to ABS keycaps

The seller does have more that are complete, but more expensive. I didn't feel they were as good of a deal.

If I were a little more flush, and liked Cherry better, I would surely buy this beast.

It practically re-defines the term "Bad Ass"
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I'd need to get a new desk for this baby, anyway.

Ended up buying it, sent it to the family in Utah. Will be either getting it in a month when I see my father. Or if it's too heavy for him to bring, I'll be heading down in two months for a visit and I'll get it. Thinking of refurbishing it, putting a new board inside. Then using those switches and caps for it. Possibly toss my raspberry pi in it. Maybe toss my lunch inside as well, has enough room hah.

That would be a fantastic case for a Raspberry Pi!!!

Ha!  $77.45 to ship to Australia.

That would be about right, because the console/keyboard itself looks to be really heavy maybe a little more than a Model-F.

At least they are not charging over $270.00usd like some characters are doing for some lighter/smaller keyboards.

Thanks guys! Can't wait to get started, must be patient. Going to have to find a G80-2100 to put in it as well I think.
