I'm Drunk And So Would You
« on: Fri, 16 November 2012, 02:06:02 »
Why do we not have a designated drunkpost thread?

Seriously this is crap. What's everyone drinking today/tonight/tomorrow morning/whatthe****ever?

Vodka and cranberry juice seems to be a good combo. At least tonight. I should go poick up more ginger beer for some Dark and Stormy action tomorrow night. I don't have a problem... I swearek.l.

I never was a fan of cheap beers. I'm thinking this weekend I'll head over to the specialty shop up the way and grab something new to me and also unique. The guy there sure knows his stuff. I'm hoping it's not too long before Crooked Stave gets new batches available to the general drinking-problem public. :D

I let someone talk me into doing that once.  The entire experience is one I'm want to forget, but the drunkenness wasn't a pleasing thing either.

3 vodkas and 1 cognac and 1 beer make the keys move around on the keyboard by themselves ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I assure you, Fat Tire is not the best they have to offer. Lips of Faith is the way to go, really. :D No matter which one they're on, they always have a unique and awesome thing going for them. 1554 is also pretty good.

I think that right now, my beer of choice is Great Divide's seasonal, Hibernation Ale. Nice and heavy beer. :D

I'm not a fan of Fat Tire. I'm more a hefeweizen person. I like Shock Top, Blue Moon, Pyramid, etc. Peach Pyramid is good on occasion. I was in San Francisco one time and ate at this restaurant in Golden Gate Park, near the beach. They had a banana hefeweizen. OMFG! Best beer I thin I've  ever had. Two and I was buzzing very nicely.

That's what I drink when I go out to Vegas. Maybe it's the casino air that makes everything taste so good. Lol. We got alot of pretty good beer in the northeast. I think for the winter I prefer Saranac Caramel Porter or whatever pumpkin beer looks good at the time. But up here, wine is very popular. I never used to like it until I went on a wine tour. The entire fingerlakes region is all wineries so your bound to find something you like. Riesling ice is probably my favorite kind. They wait until the grapes are frosted over in the fall to pick them and it's very sweet and flavorful.

To me, Shock Top and Blue Moon taste too generic. I usually go for thick, flavorful beers like porters or stouts. Stuff with hints of chocolate and/or coffee. I love that stuff. Every year we have a Bavarian fest and they have really good hefeweizen. It's cheap too!

It was almost a liter of private stock rum.  I didn't like the feeling of drunkenness.

Thanks, mooseface, I didn't know which to use and didn't feel like researching.

At one point, Fat Tire was the only beer I would entertain the idea of drinking.

Lagavulin is better at 16 years, but you're right that walker black label is a blend. Single malt is the only way to go...

If you like lagavulin try to hunt out a bottle of Loch Dhu http://www.loch-dhu.com/

Lagavulin 12 is pretty good.  Honestly I think black grouse is as good as some $60 bottles and its only a bit more than Johnny Walker Black label.

I'm interested in trying johnny walker green and blue tho.

In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

еманарот, да вы, пацыги, упоролись!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
