Vault Boy inspired keycaps
« on: Wed, 19 December 2012, 02:08:26 »
I'm a huge fan of Fallout game series, especially the first and the second episodes :)
Do you know of an inspired key caps set? It would be nice to have the function key row
composed of little vault boys in poses like the perks in the game

I don't think that has been done yet, but a good idea. I think a groupbuy could be done for dyesubs.

I'm new to keycaps thing and I never participated to a group buy but I would suggest something like yellow keycap and black printing

If do white caps can do full color legend, would probably look nicer.

My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

I don't think that would look as good on white key, and can't dyesub on black. Too complex for doubleshots. I don't think people would get behind padprinting at all.

White caps with black legends. Just google vaultboy and look at the images.

I was just thinking about this while playing Fallout New Vegas yesterday. This would be awesome and I'd definitely be interested.

Or we could do something really off the wall that would be extremely cheap... have some relegendable inserts professionally printed. Could be really nice and easy way to have some multiple options like green on black background, black on x color background. A full sheet would probably cost only a couple dollars.

Yeah, they are easy to find and not very expensive either, can get 250 pack for around $20. Just the funny thing is you need to buy 2 things as the base and lens is sperate.
black base 0628-7754, white base 0628-7750, lens 0628-7379

I think that's perfect. We can have some that are green on black and some that are black on white.

Then all we need is the images in something like 700x700 at 300dpi so they will come out looking nice and crisp. Or if someone can find those in .svg even better.

I would be surprised if they are not already done out there somewhere, just need some people to comb though places like deviantart and see if they can find them.

If doing actual caps then would be best to vote down to some reasonable quantity, but if doing the relegendable idea, then all of them would be no problem as printing on paper and having the insert die cut is pretty cheap.

The art is cool but I never played enough Fallout to really appreciate this. :)

I couldn't get over the crappy Elder Scrolls engine that it runs on. The movement mechanics are just so bad.

How about we just make one VaultBoy cap for the F-Row. Should be fairly affordable.
