What is the difference in these Filco Models, both red switches

So, I'm about to buy my first filco, but noticed that there are two different models.  Both are tenkeyless, one is ninja, and one has normal keys.  here are the model numbers.  FKBN87MRL/EFB2 and FKBN87MRL/EB2.  Is the only difference the printed keys or is there a difference in build?

Well to be very specific.  There are 6 differences:

                                    Ninja - Majestouch
                             Side Printed - Top Printed
                               Black Logo - Silver Logo
                  Blank Around LED Lights - Num Lock/Caps Lock/Scroll Lock Label Around LED Lights
Include 2 Extra Window Key And Key Puller - Include Nothing
                                     $160 - $150


Sorry for the ugly font it's the only font that follows 1x1 spacing for every letter.

Did not know about the lettering around the LEDs thing. I'm gonna grab my second Filco in February and it's too bad the silver logo looks better on beige. I think I like the blank lettering around the LEDs more.

My MJ2 came with a puller and extra windows keys. But that was last year. Sucks if the regular MJ2s don't have that anymore

Well the reason for the ninja to come with 2 extra key is because by default, the keyboard ship with domed top printed windows key.  So they included the 2 front labeled ninja window key for you to swap out.

Which I find weird because why don't they just have it ship like that to begin with.  Who in the right mind would buy a ninja filco and keep the domed top printed window keys  =_____=

Which 2 extra window key come with your MJ2?

lol it's actually not bad.  I'm currently using a beige filco ninja with black logo.  It sort of add more contrast to it and make it a bit more "different" I guess

Yeah, it's a shame I'm still struggling with something minor as that, but I'll probably just wait until the last moment before deciding

Here we go, the Filco look a bit whiter in the picture.  In real life it's more like beige.  Also the logo is metallic black, so it's shiny from certain angles.

Oh and in the picture the mouse is CM Xornet but I'm actually currently using Razer Naga

Stock everything lol.  My thick PBT won't arrive till January

lol no problem dude, glad you like it.  My only complaint is that I wish it came with blue LED (I like blue).  For Filco, MX Blue/Brown are blue LED, MX Red/Black are red LED.

I heard they coat the top printed ones, not too sure about ninja ones.  I guess only benefit I can think of is that it might reduce shine since it blocks finger oil a bit.

lol I'm on my path to my PBT-ness.  Like I've ordered PBT keycaps for my Filco and the next few keyboard that I plan to purchase all have stock PBT.  Namely IBM Model M and Topre Realforce.

I think Matias Quiet Pro is the only one that I'm considering that might be hard to get a PBT set.

While the differences noted here sound reasonable, I'm still a bit irritated that the manufacurer page shows all models with the revision "2" in the name, except the NINJA ones, i.e. http://www.diatec.co.jp/en/ lists:

   Majestouch 2 Camouflage
   Majestouch 2 Camouflage Tenkeyless
   Majestouch NINJA
   Majestouch NINJA Tenkeyless
   Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless
   Majestouch 2

Webshops however list the NINJA ones with the "2" in the name, e.g. http://keyboardco.com/

   USA Filco Ninja Majestouch-2, Tenkeyless, NKR, Soft Linear Action, Keyboard

My reasoning/speculation:
Maybe the NINJA version first appeared when the Majestouch line was on rev "2" already, so it's the first revision of the NINJA, but based on Majestouch rev 2?
And webshops don't want to make it look old/different, so they just add the "2"?

Does anyone have a proper explanation for this discrepancy?

You're making something out of nothing. There other fun MJ boards like MJ NKRO, MJ Wireless, MJ Otaku, MJ Linear R. Linear R isn't labeled as MJ2 either but it is. Think of the 2 as differentiating vs the original Majestouch, not to differentiate generation of boards.

But yes, Ninja is a MJ2 era board.

Edit: I would consider MJ NKRO as the 2nd generation Majestouch. MJ2 would be 3rd gen. MJ Wireless isn't even based on the same board.
