Windows 8 and Model M
« on: Thu, 03 January 2013, 21:44:36 »
So I just received a Model M in the mail.  Feels great, and I'm excited to try it out, but I have a catch.  Windows 8 isn't recognizing it.  I have a ASUS sabertooth Motherboard, and on startup, I can use the keyboard to access the bios.  But as soon as I get to the log in screen, my typing is no longer recognized.  Anyone else have this problem and a solution?  I thought I'd try here first as Ya'll are the keyboard gurus! :)

Hmm. The Sabertooth doesn't have PS/2, so you're using a USB to PS/2 adapter? If so, do you have an active or passive adapter? Maybe you need to invest in an active adapter such as the one found on ClickyKeyboards. http://rhino.im/81

It is a Sabertooth, but it must be a generation before, as I'm looking at the newest model version and it doesn't have PS2.  Anyway, this MB does, and it recognizes the KB before I get to the login screen.  The num lock and caps lock initiate and glow during startup, so there's power running though the connection.  Any ideas as to why all of a sudden after the OS boots up, does the keyboard not work anymore?
