I got the email for those this morning! Would have jumped on one, but about to acquire one with monterey blues(I believe).
Even so, ones with yellow would be tempting :D

EDIT: Hmmm, was just looking on the DT wiki for the SIIG minitouch. And I'm not sure if it''s 100% accurate, but it says they are either monterey blues or white clicky alps clones. Perhaps the yellow alps are why the boards are refurbished? Or maybe discoloured white? Or perhaps the wiki just didn't include the yellow version.

Monterey blues rule.

Too bad I don't like odd layouts.

Pretty much this, and if you think the fullsize Chicony has too big a foot print then you are kind of SooL.

Which is why we need a GH 60 ALPs variant!

I remember seeing someone mention that idea before, would be awesome. I would love a board with the new matias switches especially, but don't like the look of anything they offer.

I dunno, As far as I know the model 1948 is the one with white alps (and PS2) and the model 1903 that I had has monterey blues (and AT/DIN) It's entirely possible that this 1903 has "legitimate" yellow ALPS.

BTW, with a little modding, you can get a NeXT enter key to fit, even with that "peg" stabilizer it has.

I took apart one once -busted a switch, dead, blah-- and it had White ALPS in the main body, and some yellow-coloured switches in the top row.  No real feel difference; maybe the yellow version was designed to have a smaller profile or something to fit in that area of the board?

1903 indicates a 5 pin DIN connector, 1948 indicates a PS/2 connector. They do not indicate switch type.

Why do I always have to repeat this whenever a new minitouch thread pops up?

I thought that the ALPS on the top of the MiniTouch's were a different type usually. They're smaller, IIRC.

Thanks for the input. I didn't know if the model number indicated switch type or just the connector type, but when I looked it up, not only did I not find your helpful comments, but all the information I was able to find supported the conclusion that I eventually made.

@Smallfry, on the (monterey blue) minitouch (1948) I just sold, the switches across the top are the same size as the ones below. That said, I have no experience with other ALPS keyboards.

Oh, herm... I thought there was baby ALPS in the MiniTouch keyboards. Maybe I'm crazy. ;)

I have a minitouch that has apparently yellow ALPS, but I have no idea about these switches. I can take pictures later if people are interested, but I'm currently in chem class and don't have it with me :))

That would be great. I believed that Siig MiniTouch comes only with white or blue Alps.
