Are these plates the type with cutouts that you can switch out spring and stems without de-soldering?

the poker comes without a plate between the pcb and the switches.

a plate is just to enhance and give the board a more solid feel, some might say less "flex".

to put in the plate you'd have to desolder and solder if im not wrong

I'm not too sure. perhaps a bad soldering/desoldering job could ruin the PCB, or someone just wants to make an entirely new poker with the pcb.

Not too sure about the plate part, you can ask around for those who have pokers!

I'm pretty new to the mechanical keyboard community, but I bought the poker pcb and plates because I couldn't easily find a complete poker with the switches and keycaps I wanted. So I bought all the components separately. Now I will have the exact poker I want. I suppose some peoples pcbs will have broken over time so they could be replacing theirs.

As far as the plate goes, it should just make the keyboard feel more solid and stable.

If I would have known earlier we could have shared the shipping/costs :/

and why do people change pcb's ?

To have a Poker with MX Clears or Greens, or because they already own keycaps and a case (ie. one of the aluminum cases that were sold).

The original thread http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40257.msg801228#msg801228 has info on this. They are saying that the costar will not work with this plate and say that you should get the plate mount cherry stabs if you get this plate.

I don't think you're suppose to PM him, I think it's email only. At least that's how it was when I bought my PCBs

So are the extra solder points for diodes or LEDs?

Diodes are already soldered on the board. There are holes in the PCB to mount LEDs, but there are no traces that support full back-lighting.

That is a weird implementation, but I guess that is better than not being able to add LEDs at all. Also kind of sums up vortex in a nutshell :p

It is nice tho. If you really want a backlit poker, you don't have to drill any holes in the PCB, you'll just need a rats nest of wires going to each LED

It's a vortex thing lol

My american friend just got the shipment with the PCB + Plate. Thanks again, iMav!

Two quick questions:
 - What LEDs do I need to buy for this? I understand that they need to be 3mm, but at what voltage? I'm hoping to get white LEDs. Is there anything else I need to know regarding LEDs?
 - Where can I obtain the plate-mount Cherry stabilizers & bars required for this plate?

Edit: alaricljs has helped me out via PM. Thanks!

So I just went through my PMs and sure enough I stated... "7 white LEDs"  that doesn't come anywhere near a Pure, it merely fills the spots on a Poker that already support LEDs.  If you want a full complement of LEDs that's fine, but do understand that the Poker merely has plated through holes for the remaining locations.  No traces, no power, nothing to cause them to light up.

It has the holes in the PCB, which is nice, but no traces

BTW did anyones pokers come with any LEDs? Mine came with none at all (2 PCB's bought)
