Geekhack Pack Mar '13: St. Paddy's Pub
« on: Mon, 25 February 2013, 23:53:09 »
St. Patrick (AD200-AD1654) is often known as the patron saint of Ireland. According to my exhaustive studies of wikipedia, he was born into a family of travelers (ie, british gypsies) in the year 200(0) and became rebellious in his early teenage years. As penance for his love of rock music and "chillaxin", ie relaxing in a cool dry place, he was sent to Ireland to become a slave. Time passed, and it is said that in his early twenties he had an encounter with God, in which appeared a tall glass of mead and a small green plant; the clover, a common irish weed. He started partaking in this mead while chillaxing, and unto it he became a disciple of The Lord, and messenger to the cereal eating gaelic heathens of the place. It is said that he traveled the countryside, chained to a rainbow and a pot of gold compulsively picking the fields clean of clovers, looking for plants with a slight mutation that gave them four leaves instead of three. He would then explain the holy precepts to heathens by comparing both the common three leaved clover to the much less common four leaved clover and explain that although the many missionaries from the mainland wanted the Irish people to believe in some kind of Holy Trinity of Lord and Lord-like objects, in fact God had shown him that there was a fourth way to worship, the way he knew as "chillaxing" with delicious cups of mead.

Although he was not entirely successful in his early years, the British crossed the small waterway connecting their island to Ireland, led by one of those damned Cromwells (who later became a war hero for his campaign of near genocide), and massacred town after town until people stopped caring whether or not they were worshipping in their gaelic ways or whatever it was the British wanted. Hence, St. Patrick became known as the one who tried to bring Catholicism to Ireland, while generally being a pretty good guy.

Quote from: wikipedia
Show Image

St. Patrick, depicted photorealistically as a creature made of glass. Notice the sly smirk. He is reminding you to chillax.

In celebration of this great man, and the Irish people and their various brilliant forms of alcohol, we bring you this small reminder and way to celebrate St. Patrick and the Irish people, pagan as they may have been. Always remember to chillax, friends.

Order here!

Notice that this key is a 2-shot PBT key, with a nice highly saturated green PBT molded legend against a sturdy and densely textured white key. It is available alone for 4$, or get the all the GH packs from Jan-Mar at once for 11.50$ USD.

ps, with all due to respect to Irish catholics, happy St. Patrick's day!

I bought the prototypes from techkeys which included two of the blue ones, one black and two blue spacebars. One spacebar with black and one with red/orange. Both of the those doubles now reside with my good friend Youngmichael88.
