This is why I'd prefer bank transfers instead of Paypal. Let's hope everything will be okay :)

To be clear, the problems with PayPal were anticipated, and annoying, but your money is safe.

Thanks for all the hard work Sam, it's appreciated!

Not easy, not cheap (a few exceptions), not possible with most accounts.  Not secure at all.  (all regarding US banks)

For Europeans it shouldn't be hard, especially if there is a proxy in between the EU and US so there has to be paid only one transfer fee. In the Netherlands it's how we always run things. The US might be different, sure, but considering a large part of the orders are from the EU it might have been a nice thing to do.

All of the above is why I wanted to keep the large/vendor orders out of PayPal.

unfortunately that wouldn't be enough since the sum of all small orders is more than $10k anyway.

This proves again: Never keep too much money in a Paypal account.

Hope they don't lock your account for 180 days ...

Nevertheless, thanks to samwisekoi and matt3o for running this group buy!

the account has not been locked, it's just on hold for review. It also happened to me a couple of years ago and I was able to release it in a couple of days.

Here here!

As much money as Paypal makes off these transactions, you would think they wouldn't mind as much. I wonder if they are being a pain just to make sure people aren't laundering money or something. I'm sure it's the legalities that are making things difficult.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that PayPal would be perfectly happy taking our money to facilitate as many transactions as it possibly could.  It is in their best interest.  Most of this is probably coming from the tax side of things more than anything else.

There is a second invoice for 193,28 USD though, I assume this can be ignored?

Cancelled.

My apology, because I joined my fellow forumer in Malaysia to share the shipping,
so I try canceling my order by entering 0 on each of my previous order, but maybe I didn't clean the order form correctly,
and I m now charged for $21.89 USD include postage (international?), may I know what did I ordered (accidentally)?
can I cancel it?

That ended up as an order for an empty box.  Sorry about that; we need a "cancel this order" button or something.

Anyhow, the order is canceled.

I have you name from the order form.  If your initials are M.D. we are good.

Yes, all of the above.  Paypal is currently running their business as legislated by the current laws within the United States.  Hence the Federal Government wants to stamp out any suspicious transactions.  Paypal would rather just make profit but they need to follow all the rules and regulations relating to all the current hype about funding from sources that may harm the US in any way.  Thank you GW and Co.

It's not ever going to go away, hence I suspect more stringent laws will be pushed through congress to further clamp down on purchases such as these.

Amazing how times have changed so that the freedom of capitalism is now hammered down to such an extent, to seriously restrict trade within the borders of the US.

That's why anyone wanting to run a Group Buy now must be seriously mental or just love's all the pain and misery that goes with it.  :p :p :p :p

Dude what are you talking about?  Paypal doesn't want to be involved in fraud.  That is why they check large sums of money.  There's no law that is specific to them.  Wire fraud is a federal crime, as it should be.  If the feds come in an freeze funds that will be a bite out of Paypal's ass.  They have good reason to verify sellers.

Wire fraud laws have been on the books forever, which is why they are called "wire fraud".  Why the F would you complain about GW??? I mean I didn't like the guy but he didn't have anything to do with this.  You guys must not be getting very good news over there in Australia...

I see your payment, thanks very much.  I don't see a duplicate invoice, but I did send out reminders, which might have looked like second invoices.

Regardless, you are paid and good to go.

Thanks again!

Why the F would you complain about GW??? I mean I didn't like the guy but he didn't have anything to do with this.  You guys must not be getting very good news over there in Australia...

I just refer you to this link;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Act

It clearly states towards the bottom of the text where the so-called "new powers" have affected all manner of deposits (especially large) within the US and how they are monitored and examined.  Meaning that all businesses need to supply extra information to the Federal Government under the guise of so-called "Anti-fraud" activities.

Until the Patriot act came along the Anti-fraud regulations were adequate, but now they seem to restrict/hamper all 'innocent' trade within the US.  Maybe that's a bit too negative to contemplate but the extra so-called laws governing money transference is less to do about 'fraud' but more of a result connected to the Patriot Act.

Like all Government laws and regulations ALL businesses are forced to slow down activities so as to enforce the regulations.

That was my understanding of the current Patriot Act introduced by GW,  but then again I could be ...........wrong.  ;)

Hi, so you cannot make a payment from your account?

Not from the one I used for klaxon.  That should be cleared up shortly now that I've given them all the info they've requested.  Either way, because of what all I'm proxying for you, jdcarpe and georgek along with my own stuff, I'm a large money order, which means I'm paying a different way than paypal anyways.

No, it's ok, I'm not worried, it's cool:)
I'm just annoyed by Paypal - when someone steals your money from account they don't do anything, but when lot of people transfer their money in short time they freeze everything up to the roof ;)

P.S. Links fixed, thanks:)
