It's been a decade since I've last done folding@home... I imagine a lot more crunching can ben done per hour now days.  I think I have a couple computers at home that could contribute.  Only if there's a leaderboard for our group. ;-)

I may reboot all my GPUs. I have tons for this kind of stuff. This one of the custom frames that I built to hold all the folding hardware. It can house 8 GPUs, XL mobo, dual PSUs, and a slot for a HD to boot from.

I took a break from this stuff for the last few years due to not having enough disposable income anymore. I think my electricity bill was around $250/month running these things 24/7. Other distributed projects that was heavily involved was GPUgrid and WCG. Those are also great projects to crunch for if you have powerful but idle CPUs and GPUs.

Damn its getting hot in here lol; Basically this is the first time other than burn in and bench-marking that Leviathan (my rig) has had the CPU and all 4 GPUs on at 90-100% for this long and man does it give off heat. Games never pushed it this much really. Monitors + Computer pulling 780 watts according to Kill-a-Watt meter so i guess i should factor that in if i keep folding@home running all the time.

edit

aww it looks like one of my cards isn't playing as well as the other 3, right now too lazy to investigate why

daaaym, thats a tall tower, but sexy. How big is your rad to cool 4 gpus and a cpu?

Its a shame though that amd doesn't do well at folding. I'm at 27k ppd on my 580. My i7 is only at 3k though :(

Hmmm, I've joined up but not showing in the team for some reason? Is there a minimum amount of effort? As I've only done a couple of testers (3hours or so) and will be idling my pc during the week?
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

They update their servers every couple hours I think. You won't show up until you've completed at least one work unit and they update the servers afterwards.

It seems that there is a command line option if your running linux:

Its a distributed computing project designed by Stanford university. Basically, when you want to study protein folding or molecular interactions of large molecules, you need a butt-load of computational power.
Instead of paying millions to build servers, or renting server time, they distribute data to anyone willing to help, data is computed and sent back. This helps research in cancer, Alzheimer, and other diseases.

I used to fold for EVGA pretty seriously when the team first started. I have long since stopped. Perhaps I'll slap some stuff back together and help GH get a jump-start.

Good idea, boost. Folding@home is a good cause and a great way to build on forum/group unity.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.
