Author Topic: [IC] PBT dyesub spacebars with Geekhack logo (Read 25040 times)

Folks,

imsto has kindly offered to possibly maybe make another run of the dyesub PBT spacebars (6.25x only) dyesubbed with "Geekhack" in cherry font. Currently, only 4 of these exist. I was under the impression that it was far too labor intensive to make a larger run of these, but it may be that imsto has found a simpler way to produce them. If you would be interested in such a keycap, please respond here, as enthusiastically as you can manage

Note that pricing will most likely be over 10$ per cap.

I like how even the mock-up shows the warp in PBT space bars.

I'm in for two, and would like Imsto Blue on White, Red on Gray, or Black on Blue, in that order.

Definitely put me down for a few.

If Imsto can make them again in various sizes in various colours, then it's worth the cost.

Would love some Grey, Black, Blue and White Spacer's in 6.2's and 7's.

I'm just a spacer-bar ho........ I'll take all the colours that you'll make.

His PBT set would see more use if I could get a 7x space-bar. I mean I really wouldn't mind paying $20 for a space-bar right now because I really want to use his set but whatever his loss. ABS keeps on winning

See if Feng has any leftover Aluminum 7x in Pink, Blue, Orange, or Black. They'll look great with Imsto's caps

actually if we make another run, imo we should do something slightly more subtle with the text. bottom-aligned would be nice, smaller text, blue on blue, and maybe a tiny bit of outline?

I know this is a long shot, but maybe we can try to ask for black spacebars! Black dyesub on black, like those vortex sets would be great, and could be useful so as not to shine up so many ABS ones.

Should go for an all PBT space-bar Group Buy. Please only use the single word "Geekhack" because the whole net knows what this place is.

You know everyone knows "Apple" as one word when really their taxable corporate wording is Apple Incorporated. Now you know why they only mention their one word in marketing. Because it's easier to remember by everyone in every country.

one of the reasons dyesubbing the spaces is so difficult is because the dyesub process heats the key up again and risks warping it even more. that said, the directions for flattening PBT are pretty simple and can be done at home (heat up key uniformly just a little bit, straighten, done!).

also, the only cap color available would be blue, and the only size available would be 6.25x.

it looks like there's enough interest for another run, and i've gotten confirmation from imsto that he's willing to make some, so i'll start a gb when i can free up some time. in the meantime, brainstorming time: what should the new design look like?!

If he can do gray spacebars I know what I'd buy. Orange on gray.
The new design should be the same as the old one because that will make the other ones lose value, and that will make sth really happy about market prices not going sky high.
