Well since this has been brought back to life I figure I'll give my 2 cents on the matter since at this point I've tried Type Heaven (45g), Realforce 104U (Variable), and HiPro (45g).
KEY WEIGHT
Since I haven't tried 55g so I can't comment on it, but I definitely like 45g better than variable. Variable just feels weird and inconsistent, and the 35g keys feels mushy.
But definitely go with uniform weight.
REALFORCE OR HI PRO
So I've tried HiPro for about 2 weeks before I return it. Keycap/Switch feel is amazing, definitely better than the standard Realforce.
Some keys have a hard bottom out which makes it feels almost more mechanical.
But why did I return it if it's amazing? Keycap profile. I can't get used to the profile no matter what, I even tried tilting it with different angle. It just feels way overly sculpted and I'm always hitting the edge so overall feels like it takes more effort to type.
That and some keys are inconsistent, for example only the flat non-angled keys have a hard bottom out. Non-angled keys being the ASDF row and all the keys outside alpha zone (Esc, F1, F2, Arrow, Home, End, Number Pad Keys.... etc). While all the sculpted keys have a regular soft bottom out like normal Topre should.
Though the flat keys definitely feels better so they should've just made the entire keyboard 1 profile (flat) and I would've been happy with it.
If Topre decide to revise this keyboard in the future then I'd definitely consider it again, but at the moment I just can't use that profile.
Hope this helps.
