Why can't we just go meet in a park or something?

If it happens before September I'll go. Maybe ask some of the internet cafes in the city. I know they like hosting things.

I didn't read through all this, but what's wrong with doing this at Central Park? You don't need outlets for keyboards. Just bring a laptop if you want to power up a keyboard. Attach a few keyboards to each laptop (USB HUBs can be used if necessary, assuming there are way more keyboards than laptops. If you are scared of running out of power for the laptops, you can charge them at nearby locations. You can also use laptops in three groups. After one group of laptop runs out of battery, then switch it out for another group.

what do you guys thnk about a conference room?

https://liquidspace.com/Venues/work-house-nyc-downtown-feel-midtown#0b3b4288-1188-4bf1-b6f0-f6dbed4ec43d

people would probably need to chip in a little bit, but i don't think this meetup is going to be massive, so a conference room should do :)

I think the only problem with this would be that it would take place in a very crowded and public place. also it would be outside. I'm not sure if i think that is the best thing to do
good input though :)

We can borrow some seats from other rooms if they are not occupied... As for the rent, $15 for each if we have 10 participants is not bad at all.

Actually, I don't think I would want to host. It's starting to get very busy until the beginning of next year. And I wouldn't exactly want to leave my doors unlocked.

That looks pretty good, actually. Dobbs Ferry is a pretty nice town, and it can be reached by train, too.

Gah, so upsetting -- there used to be a LAN party cafe called 'Neutral Ground' not far from my place in NYC. It would have been perfect. The way I see it, the ideal location has room for a net party of some kind, maybe some snacks, a pool table, etc.
