I've been holding off buying a RealForce, the one I like the most.  I like the HHKB, but I need arrows.  Will there be a new version of either of these boards anytime soon?

There's the hipro coming soon with a different type of topre switch, but that's all I know about it.  There's a thread somewhere in here about it.

I've seen the hipro, I don't think I'd be interested in that one.  thanks though

Why the Insert key? I don't think I've ever used that on any board. Why not PrtSc?

Not really competition, Leo and Topre have been doing business a long time.

Realforce is a daughter company of Leopold, IIRC.

Ok nevermind I don't know what I'm talking about.

I am confused.

Topre = Japanese
Leopold = Korean

And as far as I know there are only two Topre Capacitive Switch factories in the world (correct me if i am wrong), one at Topre itself and the other being PFU (maker of HHKB).

Where is Leo going to get these made? If they are being made at Topre the tooling and build process would be crazy expensive so this is only the beginning. Or if Leopold is going to somehow start making Topre Switches then....whoa.

Basically what i am saying is no one can simply start making Topre boards because they want to. Something big is in the works.

Therefore I am instantly going to start envisioning a Topre TKL with Dolch DSA Sphericals and Large Center Printed Legends of yersteryear. DONT RAIN ON MY PARADE!

RealForce the company/brand is distributed by Leopold. They are manufactured in Japan by Topre.

There's already a working relationship between Topre and Leopold, so I wouldn't be surprised if they worked a similar deal, where the board is designed, branded, and distributed by Leopold, but manufactured by Topre.

Thanks for the correction, now it makes sense. See that was just speculation on my part, lol
Still would like to see a HHKB3 in similar form factor with dedicated arrow keys.
Though the KB market is becoming over saturated with a plethora of models, wallethurt.

I'm with you after using my HHKB with Delete above Enter. I love it there. So I used AutoHotKey to create a script that runs at startup. It remaps those two keys on all my non-HHKB boards.

When I want to use my HHKB, I simply right-click on the systray icon and 'Suspend Hotkeys'. When I switch back to my TKL, just uncheck 'Suspend Hotkeys'.

Here is the script:

\::BS
|::BS
BS::\

Easy as pie. Works great for all your non-HHKB boards. If you're already running an AutoHotKey script, create this as a separate script. That way, when you 'Suspend Hotkeys', it doesn't stop your other key remapping you have running.

If you have more than one instance of AutoHotKey scripts running, each will have a separate icon in your Systray. The icon will also give you the status...

Strange - I thought the plate would make it sound really soft (ala Realforce).

I can hear a fairly audible THOCK from the video..tempting...

Lol...the ultimate board.

I'm less adverse to opening up a sub $200 topre board and modding it to be silenced than I am trying the same mod on a $250+ RF or HHKB.

Has anyone reached out to Brian at EK to inquire whether he will be carrying the Leopold FC660C?
