I wonder why no CC didn't send me my email telling me I had bough all the MR. Fridays? Silly guy...must have forgotten.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

We used Gmail (Nezumi & I) and both won. Did anyone see my last post? If you had the timer page running for an hour plus and didn't reload it close to zero, I found it to be lagging a few seconds.

I got everything I asked for, clickclack is my hero! All the pink ones! And I totally messed up my order notes, twice. -__- (sorry).

I used gmail, and noticed a lag on the countdown site so I synced it with my phone a few minutes before.

Guess next sale ill have to try to send it a couple seconds early. In he meantime I'll continue having to buy all my clicks at 500% markup
The sole reason i dont buy at markup, and would love to have gotten something here is that CC actually gets all of the $$$
Yea I have 4 CC's paid between $100-150 for each. I don't have a problem with paying for them at markup but it would be nice to get some at cost once in a while.  :p

I don't know if this one went faster than the previous one, or if he stands by his "good > lucky" stance, but I don't really buy it. I don't want to sound bitter about not getting in, but when people are sending their emails at the exact second they are told, and still missing out, it seems like a fair amount of luck is involved. Unless everyone who got in knew their delay to CC and compensated by sending early (and is not devulging so)...

You have to estimate how long it will take from your email provider to send an mail to hotmail, if you have done that you know when to send the email. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that has done some testing before this sale. So yeah, people probably know how long it takes for the mail to get sent.

I didn't get anything either.  :(

I guess I have to post a Classified thread.  Back to the open market for me.

Click Clack should consider an auction next time.  Then the winners would not be the quickest (or the luckiest), but rather would be the ones who love Click Clacks the most. (Like me.)  Measure by love, not milliseconds.

I wonder how many people that got in, used Hotmail. I think that helps a lot (same provider, likely faster sending.)

I used GMail and sent the email approximately 1 second before the timer hit 0.

Getting my first Clack!

Number 5 is alive!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I opened the countdown page with 2 or so minutes to go to avoid any lag. I also pre prepared the email in Gmail- ready to sent the second the timer hit 1 second, so I could use that 1 second to switch tab and click send.

I thought this was considered cheating and that all emails SENT prior to 4:20:00 were going to be disqualified, which was why I waited for 0.

Did you get some clacks?  Would be nice to know for next time, that the only way to win is to cheat..

As everybody trys to "figure it out" the big variable that goes unmentioned is the contrast between the countdown timer, call it actual real time if you wish, and the time stamp applied by CC mailbox. Is it Gmail webmail he uses, is it a client, such as Outlook or Outlook Express and no matter what it really is, how does it correlate to the "real time" of the countdown timer. There could be different by seconds. There source is not the same hence there is no direct relationship.

Just a few thoughts, not bitterness (I did ok), just throwing it out there.

idd... I waited for the timer to hit zero and then sent and gmail has it that it was sent at exactly 12:20:00... but I've not no real clue as to when CC actually got my email as there is no way to be sure how many pipes the letter has to go through etc etc

Sounds like next time my approach should be countdown timer + brute force.  Get a bunch of order emails queued up, then at around 5 seconds left on the timer start sending a couple emails per second.  I imagine that's how many of you won this round..

Yeah, I do email and SMTP support for a living. I get it. Just throwing out there the fact that there are variables that are unaccounted for and never can be calculated exactly. Just wait until about a second to go, hit send and cross your fingers. It really is that simple.

You should 100% defo spam his email next time then, tbh I'd recommend having them being sent every .5 seconds, that way your 1000000% GARANTEED to win all the things!

Quoted from the rules: "-Early orders will not be accepted (it will not disqualify you, BUT, it wont be accepted)."

Correct, but who am I to say when you sent it? Clearly, it would only matter to me when I receive it. Email is quick, very quick, but it's travel still obeys the laws of physics and the programing it encounters on it's journey. I have yet to see any "Back to the Future" moments in my inbox.

Sounds like next time my approach should be countdown timer + brute force.  Get a bunch of order emails queued up, then at around 5 seconds left on the timer start sending a couple emails per second.  I imagine that's how many of you won this round..

Pretty sure you would get banned from sales that way.

Damn well ought to, anyway. Or he could only count the last one received... that would stop spamming.

A single well timed email is as good a way as any for clack to run these sales, but damn, I sent mine on the nose of :00 by atomic clock and was obviously not near the head of the queue!

I got a 2 and a 5 -  my 7th and 10th choices, but no bitterness, I'm just really happy to get more clackage :D

LoL, the thread was locked when I hit reply to Soarer. He was smack in the middle of the sale (close enough anyway).

I'm going to go a little radio silence for the next day or two while I try to process the orders that have been completed.

Peace out!

-cc  =)

p.s. Thanks again everyone, this sale still seems to have gone somewhat smoothly.

The received time on the email is when it was received by his server (hotmail), not his client.

Yeah, I do email and SMTP support for a living. I get it. Just throwing out there the fact that there are variables that are unaccounted for and never can be calculated exactly. Just wait until about a second to go, hit send and cross your fingers. It really is that simple.

So yeah... watch 'Making Stuff Together!' for a project to build a clack-sale-winning black box that statistically analyses all the variables and sends your email at exactly the right moment.

It will still get it wrong half the time  :))
