turns out my customs charged package was from my santa, also turns out they lost the bulk of what was in the package (customs, not santa)

good times

i may have the worst luck ever with postal services

although im sure everyone feels that way

What a bummer. So they lost most of it then charged you a bunch of money for their failure... simply amazing.

that is exactly correct

so what in effect they did is lose my main gift and then charge $50 for a white on red double shot esc key lol

i have rarely felt such pride in my countries customs officers

keep up the good work ladies and gents

my santa very kindly offered to pay the customs fees, a real shame that the gift has run away though

That is awful.

Most of that £35 was probably a delivery charge from ParcelForce too. I once had to pay £10 duty with a £20 ParcelForce charge...

Those customs folks just have no giving spirit, do they? That's god damned scummy of them to charge all that after losing part of your package.

Problem with insurance is that it's not really worth it to insure $40 worth of keycaps, you know?

I got insurance on your Poker, though, Bunny. If customs messes that one up, I'll be filing a claim.

to be fair i get like 15 parcels a week with no issues, and the 2 things your referring to are my only 2 issues i have had in a long time, it just so happens they are both related to this forum and i moan a lot, on the point of my moaning, i really shouldnt, because i have been really lucky in being sent another santa and the board from jd et al , im only pointing out the situation as it sucks for my santa and how bad customs were

this thread and everyone in it is awesome, and i shall treasure my $50 red esc

I wasn't sure how much or if you can even insure a package from the US to International.

esoomenona - Insurance on the item(s) inside the package in case something is lost or damage.

Part of mine is coming tomorrow! The surprise has been broken, but I can't wait to share it all with you.  Most generous Secret Santa ever.

And since my Secret Santa already figured out who I am, I wanted to post a brighter picture of the USB cable.

Edit: Haha, I derped and ended the code with [/usb] since it's a usb cable.  She'll be getting a few more custom ones once she's in Florida.

What's Chayse?  I looked it up and the first couple of entries went to baby names and porn stars...kind of an odd combo if you ask me.

The RGB caps look great.  I didn't know there were PBT versions of them.

A good parent would say I will love them no matter what they choose to do in life.....Me on the other hand says, " I will love you no matter what you choose except being a porn star".

I got my first mechanical keyboard right when my daughter was born, hence the personalized keycaps. It is also my work board so its a way to think of her during the day. After looking at the RGB and Esc key I think they may be dye-sublimated ? not sure what is the best way to tell?

The reason I say that is they reminded me of the PBT Dye from originative here: https://www.originativeco.com/pbt-dye-sublimation-rgb-and-red-esc

SP replica RGB set have been made in both doubleshot and dyesub. Easiest way to tell, can you see any black on the underneath? But looking the photo I will say they are the dyesubs since I see no spruemarks and SP PBT don't have them on the front like they do with ABS.

They must be Dye-Sub as there is no evidence of double shot. I know what to look for on everything besides dye-sub as I have never had any. Now I can say I own ABS, PBT, and Dye-Sub. Now I just need to get a Double Shot and a laser engraved :)

They must be Dye-Sub as there is no evidence of double shot. I know what to look for on everything besides dye-sub as I have never had any. Now I can say I own ABS, PBT, and Dye-Sub. Now I just need to get a Double Shot and a laser engraved :)

all those things arent necessarily mutually exclusive

They aren't necessarily, but in general usage, they pretty much are (at least when speaking in regard to doubleshot ABS versus dyesub PBT). When you get in lasering, that's a different story.

SP replica RGB set have been made in both doubleshot and dyesub. Easiest way to tell, can you see any black on the underneath? But looking the photo I will say they are the dyesubs since I see no spruemarks and SP PBT don't have them on the front like they do with ABS.

I am 98% sure they are Dye Sub, I say that because they are on my board now and are next to lasered legends and they look completely different, the RGB mods legends are so perfect looking compared to my lasered legends(rough looking) but that could be due to them being on PBT not sure. Honestly, it doesn't matter of course, just curious. My entire team at work as already commented on them this morning. :D Thanks again SS
