Very brilliant to put those on the left since "most" people have the mouse on the right and still have a "standard" layout, just inverted.

Interesting, though I'd feel lost without the arrows on the right.

Cherry profile thick PBT eh.  Probably from the same factory where imsto made his.

This makes me wonder why imsto never did dark grey keycaps before.  Those look so nice !!!

It appears there are two threads, so I'll just repeat my comment knowing one will probably get deleted.

I think it's great. Reduces travel distance between mouse and most used keys (alphabet cluster), like a 60%, and doesn't sacrifice the other dedicated keys. It's also still completely compatible with any default tenkeyless keyset.

If that thing has the same build quality (and $100 price tag) of the KBT Oni, with the double sided PCB and all, along with the new thick cherry profile PBT keycaps, I'm completely sold.

Oh, and I also love the new sleeved cable.

wat

Why is that, exactly? If anything it just adds better possibilities for mapping extra buttons to your left hand.

I haven't used anything in that cluster in a game for a long time.

Is it programmable or vortex poker "programmable". If I can't move the default keys I'm not interested in the least. Just want a replacement for my qfr that I can remap, and I like the idea of arrows on the left.

I'm so used to using the right hand for arrow keys etc. - this would be totally weird.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't tend to use the arrow keys or Ins cluster while gaming, just WASD and a few immediately adjacent keys.

Likely to be OEMed by different factory than the KBT ONI.

ONI was Costar, made in Taiwan.
This is Made in China. I suspect it comes from the same factory as the Poker 2.

The Delete key for me is critical, so that layout is a bender. It does look like a left-handed keyboard though.

Hate the legending.

Oh f*** me. If that's true then all my excitement is gone. Being a Costar board and having the same quality of my current KBT Oni was definitely a pre-requisite for me. Totally deal breaker.

I'm sad  :(

I hate to burst your bubble.

There is a glimmer of hope.
Last I read, Costar was setting up shop in Mainland China.
Only way to confirm this is to ask Vortex themselves.

Yeah, I asked them on facebook, but Vortex isn't quite well known for getting back at costumers. I guess we'll just see.

EDIT: the bottom part of the case is identical to the one on the KBT Oni. Even the sticker cutout is in the same position. Couldn't that indicate it's also being manufactured in the same factory?

to be honest I don't/didn't see any quality issues with my ONI.
the keycap lettering wasn't that great but... whatever.

From the first and seventh photo down (and others), it is evident that this board is programmable:

EDIT...  Maybe not...

No. They could have the case molding done in their original case molder, and had it shipped to the new assembler for assembly. It doesn't have to be done under 1 roof from start to finish.
