« on: Fri, 21 June 2013, 09:58:18 »
Is it still on for a mid July release?

Also, what is the Quickfire XTL?

I think he's referring to the Cooler Master Quickfire XT that was announced at Computex. It's a full-size keyboard seemingly without any Cooler Master Branding, and a much simpler case design.

Considering a Google search returns nothing, I'm assuming this "XTL" version does not exist, nor do I think it was announced at Computex, which was where they announced all their new keyboards.

What I did hear about was the XTS, which is supposed to be a backlit version of the XT, but I don't even know if they went on with that idea.

And then there's TKL, tenkeyless. And Cooler Master already has two TKL Costar keyboard, the CM Quick Fire Rapid and CM Quick Fire Stealth, why'd they want another one?

I don't really see the point of the XT when CM already has the Storm Trigger. Unless they want to brand all their keyboards as "Quickfire" this or that, which would make sense because Storm Trigger is just a silly name lol.

I don't think the XT will have any macro buttons like the storm trigger or backlighting, I believe it is more of a replacement for the current quickfire 'pro', but will be a costar based board.

Actually, it's for those people who like the CM Quick Fire Rapid's quality and want a full-sized keyboard. It will be a competitor to keyboards such as FILCO Majestouch 2, Das Keyboard Model S Professional, Rosewill RK 9000...

The CM Storm Trigger is a nice keyboard, but not everyone wants backlighting and it also makes the keyboard's quality lower.

Also, no "OMFGMILITARYLOOKINGKEYBOARD" anymore, but a very simple and elegant looking keyboard.

I got the 'XTL' from this thread:

Quoting Hyde:

Rajiv confirmed that it's gonna be out mid July.  Now I hope the XTL won't take too long to come out.

But maybe Hyde is mistaken and there is no such thing as the XTL.

The CM Storm Trigger is no longer available.  And I am looking for a full size basic keyboard with green switches.

Hyde is never mistaken.  Hyde is only mistaken when he orders Big Mac with Salad thinking it would cancel each other out.

lol on a serious note, Rajiv mentioned that XTL is indeed the backlit version of XT.  And they have planned for it but doesn't have a firm release date.

So as of now:

QuickFire Rapid = Top printed tenkeyless
QuickFire Stealth = Side printed tenkeyless
QuickFire XT = Top printed full size
QuickFire XT Stealth = Side printed full size (yes they also planned for it, no release date yet)
QuickFire XTL = Backlit version of XT, no release date so far

The Ducky ones have thick PBT keycaps while the XT have ABS (I just assumed that)

Yeah XT will most likely have ABS.  Though Cherry stabilizer is stopping me from buying Ducky lol.

Lower quality thin keycaps with a texture like the CM Storm Trigger ones? No thanks.

What's the damn point of making it side-printed if it's backlit? You're not even supposed to look at it.
