Cardboard filco case
« on: Sun, 30 June 2013, 19:04:44 »
Hey guys, I made this cardboard case for my filco and I thought I'd show you.

It's certainly a conversation piece whenever anyone comes over. I made it as a test, I plan on making my next case out of plywood and then after that hardwood.

:D Unfortunately it'd actually take quite a bit of time to do it if I wanted to make the edges cleaner, unless I found a better way to do it than using a box cutter.

There's a place near me that does that.  This needs to become the ultimate budget GH60 budget case.  Super budget version, download a template, print it out, do it yourself.  Less budget, but still budget option, do a group buy laser cut version and offer it with a custom laser engraving option.  Then either ship out the pieces or assemble it and seal it in some sort of resin.

Hey, don't be dissing on the cardboard case!  It's got feelings!

But imagine if you did cut it extremely neatly and then used duck tape all over in some interesting color.  It could actually look like a "real" plastic case from a distance.  I rather like the cardboard look though.

Definitely like the cardboard look.  It would be cool to have a cleaner cut one and coat it in a clear resin.
