Does look way better than the Evoluent, but I still love my Joy Pen.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I literally just bought this the other day for $17.  Think Amazon will refund me the difference?

Doesn't hurt to try. I have had nothing but awesome experience with their customer service. But as always YMMV.

And they did it.  Seems they'll refund the difference if it's within 7 days of delivery.  I could have also been a stickler and gotten another $1 back from another purchase, but I was happier to get my $6.50 back on the mouse.

And if you haven't tried it, it's not a bad vertical mouse.  Not an amazing one, but not a bad one either.  I originally had a wireless Anker Vertical Mouse, but my mom tried it and stole it from me.

Forwarded this on to a friend with big ol' hands. His hands get fatigued from trying to hold onto those regular mice to move them, so maybe this would help.

It might help him, I have regular sized fingers and a large palm.  My fingers to go the end, but I also have used this mouse with a pincer grip and it's still comfortable.  Lots of folks at my office like these.

I've never tried a vertical mouse before, so I just purchased a wired one to see what all the craze is about! I'm looking forward to using this.

It takes some getting used to, but it's more comfortable for extended use.

If you want a wired vertical mouse go with the Anker, it's a great deal. If you want wireless I would recommend going with this Perixx one. It goes up to 2000dpi and is cheaper. Otherwise it's basically the same except the Perixx one has a better finish on the clickers. Regardless of which one you get, I highly recommend these mice. They are very comfortable and great for the price.

I have not used these Ankers but I can certainly vouch for this type:

PS - it is much better-looking and less clunky in real life

or if you want to look badass at work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826501004

i got one of these for $5 a couple years ago in a newegg deal-my guess is zalman must have made a million of these and couldnt sell them, it is such a dumb thing--yes it has some of the ergonomics of a vert mouse but it doesnt really feel ergonomic after you use it for more than 10 minutes gaming, plus it looks really stupid to use.

I just opened mine up and swapped 5 out of the 6 crappy Zhij switches for these Omrons and it makes it so much nicer.  The switches are a lot less stiff, but still nice and clicky. The only one I didn't have enough Omrons for was the DPI switch, but I'm okay with that.  Honestly, you can't go wrong with it for $10 and another $4-8 for some Omron switches.

While I was at it, I also swapped the LED for one of these water clear pink LEDs.  It's not as bright as I would like, but looks nicer than the blue IMO.  I may need to open it up again and see if I can swap a resistor for a lower resistance one to make it brighter.

That is really awesome! How hard was swapping out the switches? And how much of a difference do the Omron switches make? I am considering doing this on mine.

It was really easy. Figuring out how to open it was a PITA, but it actually disassembles pretty easily.

How to disassemble:

- Pop the glides/skates/feet off the mouse.  There are screws under 3 out of the four that need to be removed.

- After unscrewing the screws, the bottom of the mouse comes out and you'll need to disconnect a ribbon cable.

- Find a little clip inside for popping off the part of the mouse that you press to click the buttons.

- Once that's off, unscrew three screws, two up front, one in the back.

- Next, find the clips holding the two sides together and pop the two halves apart.

- From there, it's just unscrewing PCBs, desoldering, and soldering on the new switches in the right orientation.

The Omrons are easier to click and feel nicer. The Zhij switches it uses take a lot of force to depress and are a lot stiffer.  It's not a massive difference, but it's definitely noticeable and well worth it to me.  It's enough of a difference that my mom asked me to do it to the wireless one she stole from me.

Wow, thanks for the guide! For $4 I think it will be well worth it.
