so ive been typing on these all day on the my ergodox
pros:
- the high profile is great for typing comfort and even gaming, feels like my model m in that aspect
- makes cherry MX feel more sturdy and less wobbly and cheap,
- the quality is higher than GMK in my opinion.
- The color on these is much better than i thought they would be, my wife doesnt like them but they are very manly, im wondering how it would have been though if instead of green, a darker tan be used, in the case of the ergodox i actually could snag some replacement keys in different color from SP if they ever appear in inventory.
cons:
- not really enjoying them that much with my lighter mx reds, too much impact. i can see that blacks would feel better with these. I'm tired of mx red in general and plan on doing a switch swap to ergo or stock clears with these. i put one of these on a stock clear and felt really awesome and super tactile.
- like mentioned below the height is just a tad too tall for a ergo dox, you have to realize SA sits higher on the switch mount than DCS and DSA so height+mount leads to a really tall key cap. look at a model M and see how much the key cap is sunk in. So resting my wrist is impossible on the full hand style case. Once i transplant this to the classic case and use my wooden wrist rest (ergodock) which sits higher then this problem will be solved,
-those with full hand ergodox or anyone with a normal keyboard and thin wrist rest should keep this in mind that the caps are too tall to be used with thinner/short wrist rests.
- final con is that because its R3 for all 3 main rows, it has the same problem DSA users or scissor switch keyboard users have and that is you can accidentally wonder off if you are a touch typer like me, sculpted keys usually prevent this. If you are new to the ergodox and a touch typer i would not recommend SA
ok thats all for me in this mini-review/rant
